Eating this makes me feel really good about myself...
Eating this Quadruple Berry Pie while watching my guilty pleasure Bachelor In Paradise makes me feel even better. : )
My beautiful-inside-and-out mother as I picked her up for Mass and dinner last weekend...and I can only hope to look and feel like this at 79.
My Mocha. Enough said.
Ironing is fun. It really is. Especially when you are watching a mindless Lifetime Movie and ironing something as sweet as this.
Or this. It isn't all fun and games, though. There were about 10 pair of Steve's work pants in-between.
Getting all that work done rewarded me with this...One of my very favorite things ever. Planning for a new school year! First Grade this year. : )
I was also rewarded with this. Peyton made the best zucchini bread.
And I enjoyed it warm with a little slather of butter. And it was good.
And apologies to all my summer loving friends. I just couldn't help myself! We had a dark, rainy afternoon this week, and I had to pull out one of my favorite autumn scents. But that's it! Promise!
Flynn's friend Miss Aly came this week, and she and Flynn made cookies together. Flynn loves the fun things they do together.
This beautiful sight last evening made me think of my dear Dad...
Missing him every. single. day.
One of the daily pictures I receive from these two...Always makes me smile!
Pinterest knows me well. : )
And that's all for now, my friends.
Have a cozy weekend with your people.
Thanks for visiting!
Great pictures Billie Joe! I watched the Bachelor for the first time when it was Ben's season and this summer I watched the Bachelorette. My kids give me a hard time asking me why I'm watching "such a stupid show". But it is my guilty pleasure even though it is totally ridiculous. I am very intrigued by Bachelor in Paradise but will have to wait until the kids are back in school and I can watch it on demand. Otherwise, I would never hear the end of it because that show looks even crazier than the others!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide what pictures I like best. It's a three way tie between the ironing the pumpkin dress and the school books and planner all spread out and ready and your MOM. Love them all and your reflections of August. Just spent some time planning in the rest of August and I got that lump in my throat 'first day' for the girls gitters. I'm already missing them... Have a wonderful weekend friend. xo
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Billie Jo...smiles (and I am looking forward to colder weather)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!! Aren't random photos of our lives just the absolute best?! When is your first day of school? We start the 17th and I'm finishing up organizing books, etc myself. You're schooling 3 now so do you think it may be easier or do your oldest 2 do something different? We're doing Abeka Academy because planning and teaching is so overwhelming for me. I have a Paralegal degree, not teaching, lol! I've had to PRAY earnestly for patience since we began 2 years ago... And I think I may break out my Autumn Yankees as well! Its still 100° down here, but I'm just so impatient for the cool and crisp days ahead! Please keep up with the posts!!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth!
DeleteWe don't start until after Labor day!
And the two older kids...Peyton and Rhett...do an online Public school called Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School. I am sooo happy with it! Those high school courses are a bit much for me!
I do homeschool Flynn using Catholic Heritage Curriculum. Also love. Prayers for you and your family as we begin a brand new year. : ) And soon...All things FALL!
Oh how I would LOVE to start after labor day! The girls love having a 7 month school schedule and a long summer so no later than mid August for them. Boo. That's so wonderful that you can do online school. For 10 years, 2 companies (the ONLY two we can even get) have been in a feud over servicing our home. We can't get internet! We're sitting smack dab on a territorial county line and no one will hook us up, so no online school for us. DVDs are it. But anyway, I'm looking toward to great year! Finally had my checkup and tests results for my health and all us well yet again, Praise God, so I am extremely happy and excited to see your schooling adventure and to share ours! 😁

DeleteI love your days! Flynn's back to school shirt is soooo adorable and I thought of you today when I was buying some new Fall candles. Obviously I completely understand the need to burn them in August ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's neat that Flynn has a friend like Aly! Is she a relative of yours? Lucia would love to have an older girl to spend time with ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love catching up with what's happening at your house. Your mom IS beautiful. I bet she really enjoys your Saturday outings, as I'm sure she's missing your Dad, too. I'm sorry your heart still aches--of course it does---but I bet he's smiling as he looks down on you.
ReplyDeleteI love those autumn candles too and I'm ready for the fall....but mostly because I've gained some extra pounds being totally lazy this summer, so I want to wear more clothes to cover up!
Have a great weekend.
Your sweet posts always bless my heart, dear friend. Ah, the joy of preparing for the school year. I, too, have been getting ready for 4th grade with my son. I am anticipating a wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is in the air here in the mountains. I can feel it and smell it when I step outside in the morning.
Enjoy your weekend, dear Billie Jo. Hugs!
Our heat, I've been trying not to complain because it's part of life here, but yesterday, I was officially tired of the heat. And I know I will be complaining once the "cold" set in. This, too, shall pass, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you have rain. Just yesterday I was thinking how nice it would be to have a rainy, cooler, Saturday where we just lie around eating warm food and smelling yummy candles!
Glad all is going well in Norway!
School. Isn't it crazy how fast time goes?! So are you doing Catholic Heritage Curriculum? I know a lot of families who do.
Those adorable clothes made me smile and the smell of Autumn is just around the corner so I am prolonging Summer for as long as I can.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post!! Love all
ReplyDeleteI hit send a little too soon......love flynn's shirt!!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty photos, as always ❤️
ReplyDeleteOur summer has not been as horrible hot as usual but I am ready for Autumn, we are tired of doing yardwork.
I love autumn but going to enjoy summer a little longer, lol. ;-) Love Flynn's adorable clothes!! So precious :-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
,Jill
Good morning Billie Jo,
ReplyDeleteI think that the school year should never start until after Labor Day. Isn't it a joy to do schooling with your little one? I always especially enjoyed those years, such excitement and enthusiasm.
Ironing while watching a movie is very relaxing. It is a great way to conquer the laundry pile :)
Your mother looks fantastic; what a tasteful looking lady she is!
I love your random photos - good to see your Madison looking so happy.
Have a lovely Sunday,
♥Hope
Love the yogurt and then the desert. LOL!!!! LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour mom is so adorable!! I can only hope I am that beautiful and active at 79! Wow! Love all your pictures this week! August days are wonderful....they mean September is coming! ♥ You and me...August 31st! I'll be there...cheers!
