Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm thinking about...

...not much!  I am actually thinking about making a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce on Sunday. We have no other plans, and that sounds like a good idea to me. Decision made.  : ) In other news, here is a peek at the past week in our country home.

My mom came up and we did indeed go through her photos. She remembered so many wonderful things! Look at that picture of her at four years old with her doll! : )

It snowed.

A lot.

And it was pretty.

When it snows, we bake.
Yummy things like this lemon chip snack cake...

and banana bread with chocolate chips. : )

Peyton is still making delicious Japanese meals!
This was a Japanese Noodle Bowl served with a fried egg on top.
Best eaten with chopsticks, of course.

Oh, I cleaned my make up brushes.
(See, aren't you glad you didn't miss this exciting post?!)

So...that's it.
That's what is happening in our little part of the world.
I hope you all have a wonderful, cozy weekend.
Thanks for visiting!

  2. Hi Billie Jo,

Your mom looked so cute with her doll. I do believe that picture is frame worthy. We have the same make up brushes, I love them. They really work well.

    Blessings,
    Amy Jo

  3. I love this post. Those pictures of your mom are such a treasure.
Peyton is amazing with her recipes. She is one hard worker. And are those Mary Kay products from your favorite entrepreneur, Madison? Great picture of you, Billie Jo. Enjoy the snow. We have another day off from school. At this rate we'll be making up days in the summer :(

  5. Love the old pictures of your mom! And I continue to wonder how you guys stay so thin with all that delicious baking and cooking you do!!!! I guess shoveling all that snow helps burn calories!

  7. Oh - aren't old pictures the best!?! My Mom and I recently went through all of her old photos and several from her siblings and I'm planning to work on a heritage album for that side of the family. I'm going to ask that they contribute a memory or story to put in it too.

We had a bit of snow here the other day too -but sounds like a good chance a lot of it will melt this weekend. Here's hoping!! ;)

Those baked goodies look so good! I love banana chocolate chip bread (& I often divide and add 1/2 chocolate chips & 1/2 butterscotch chips) - boy is it a yummy combo! Those noodles look really good too!! Does he make sushi too? That's one of my fave Japanese foods.

Adorable photo at the end too. ;)
Wishing you a sunny day! xo
