Good Monday morning! Well, that is a wrap on another football season. Congratulations to the Chief Fans! We celebrated low-key with this beauty, compliments of Peyton. And it was delicious.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! We have a few touches of red and pink around. And chocolate. Because you can't go wrong with a little dish of chocolate kisses, right?
Well, February is half over. Except for an arctic weekend over Christmas, winter is disinterested in our area this year. The lake is far from frozen, the yard resembles those mid-March days, and the sleds have yet to leave the spot we threw them in last spring. I am one who thinks that we should have winter in winter. I have nothing intellectual to base this on, but we need a chance for things to rest, sleep, and recover so they can begin anew in the spring. We sometimes get our strongest winter days in March here, so I am not without hope.
That is all I have today, my friends. Here are some unedited photos I snapped this weekend of what a mild February looks like in our little part of the world. Have a cozy day!

Good Morning! It has been a winter like that here too. In London, it was much colder than they normally have, but still warm to me! It's so good to be back home and able to comment on blogs again.
ReplyDeleteI do like your sweet little Valentine's decor. It looks very happy and sweet.
Blessings,
Betsy
Such pretty skies with pinks and purples. We had a little sunshine, but February is actually a very cold month here, and Winter will be here for a bit. There's just nothing like the Hershey's Kisses in Valentine colors, right? And I love that little heart canister on your table. Peyton's Super Bowl cake is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, my lovely friend.

We've had very little Winter here either. This week the high temps are in the 60's. It's crazy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on Winter should be Winter. I'm afraid that we will end up seeing tulips and other flowers this year with snow on them. I love your blog and read it all the time.
ReplyDeleteFebruary certainly looks beautiful in your part of the world, Billie Jo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's! Xx
Your photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOooh! Those photos are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWinter is looking the same in our area. We said we have Spring fever after a beautiful weekend, but we know we'll get more snow, so we wait...
Our winter has been extremely mild here too. The daffodils are already up and probably will be blooming before too long. Hopefully you will get some more winter weather before spring comes your way!
ReplyDeleteThe only winter we've had here was over Christmas when we had extreme cold for a few days, but no snow. We went for a walk on Saturday and noticed the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom along with daffodils sprouting up everywhere. It feels and looks like spring! I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow celebrating with your family. I've always loved this sweet holiday! I'm making lasagna and salad for dinner. I'm debating on making a dessert since we will all have candy to eat, but I might make a pan of brownies with chocolate frosting! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHappy early Valentines dear Friend! 💗 I will happily send you some of our snow? Lol We go so much this year! However, we have had some really mild days recently so it has started to melt quite a bit. Still snowbanks everywhere....but a little smaller now. I hope you have a wonderful cozy week ahead. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Valentine’s, you two!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! Beautiful pictures. The cake looks delicious! Happy Valentines Day to you and your sweet hubby. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI could eat the entire bowl of Hershey Kisses:) Oh the views at your place are GORGEOUS! I also like some Winter in Winter. We have a rainy one around where I live. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteYummy-looking cake! Beautiful pictures. Happy Valentines Day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views of your area! And yes, even this spring/summer lover needs a bit of winter. How can I appreciate my favorite seasons if I can't moan a bit about the cold and snow? Ha. Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day and are having a great week!
