Good morning! And happy Friday, the first one of February! Kirby is thrilled, as you can see. This week was one of quiet and transition. February always helps me move from missing all that is Christmas and into thoughts of Valentines, Mardi Gras, and Lent. And so it goes. Soon I will be planning what we will eat for the Fourth of July and thinking about how long I can wait to put up my autumn things!
This girl. This is our baby, Flynn. That precious little girl with the great big hairbows is suddenly a teenager with the absolute sweetest, funniest, kindest heart. Flynn and I share our days drinking coffee, watching Spongebob and the Walking Dead, laughing at memes, and schooling. She is a lover of all animals, especially Madison's pup Draper, video games, music, art, pizza rolls, and homeschooling. Really! I thank God every single day for giving us this child with a beautiful smile and the kindest heart, and am loving watching her grow into a lovely young woman.
These taco roll-ups are one of her favorite meals, by the way. I will link the recipe down below! And lest you think we are fancy~smancy here, let me show you how we serve dinner on any given weeknight!
Yep! Grab a plate and get in line!!!!
Ok. Well, I am off to pack a lunch and start my day. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. Stay warm and cozy! Thanks for reading!
Billie Jo
The taco roll ups look and sound great. Thanks for sharing the recipe. That youngest child that comes a little later than expected is always a blessing! I hope that you and your lovely family have a great weekend! See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteTaco roll ups look delicious.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I love yourt blog header. There is something special about the youngest child. Our older kids called my son, Mama's Boy and they still call him that even though he is 40. He is a special person in my life and so close to me...big hearted and happy and good to everyone.
ReplyDeleteSaving that recipe. Fantastic idea! xo Diana
Oh, yum! That looks so good and healthy. Looks pretty fancy to me ;). We’re having macaroni and cheese with steamed broccoli and cut up Nathan’s hot dogs…one of our fav meals.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentines 💌 Day towels are so sweet.
Stay warm~
I like how you "roll." Your daughter matches your description. You are both blessed to have each other.
ReplyDeleteFlynn is so precious, our last child was a girl she and I shared so many wonderful memories, and we are still making them! Thanks for sharing the recipe, everything looks wonderful!

Oooh... those taco roll-ups put me in mind of a taco ring made with crescent rolls. You've got me hungry for it now.
ReplyDeleteThe last child at home I suspect always makes for a special time, and creates a different kind of parent-child relationship. I have three boys - all easy to raise. Sweet boys who turned into good-hearted men. I hadn't really thought about it before, but our youngest and I do share more memories that just the two of us have, compared to memories shared with the other two that mostly include other people in the family. That can't help but create a different relationship. I enjoy time with each of my adult sons, but the youngest (age 27) seems the most tender and is probably the most open with me of all of them. Sweet post. Thank you for making think about these things.
Those taco roll ups look delicious. I am sure many would think your weekend serving is fancy these days.
ReplyDeleteFlynn is the absolute best! I love watching Harry Potter with her, playing games, and listening to her observations on life. She is wiser than her years and totally hilarious! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso...I am requesting those taco rolls up next time I visit. YUM!!!!!
Have a wonderful cozy weekend! Miss you!
Thanks for the link to the recipe! I'm sure my grandkids would love this.
ReplyDeleteI love your enthusiasm for the seasons, and decorating. I'm a holiday girl, too. The more we can celebrate, the better :)
Your taco roll up bar looks delicious! That's usually how we roll at our house. Enjoy your Friday!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! I always love your posts. filled with coziness, and delight. Sweet Flynn, what a precious girl! It is that time of year to start moving past Christmas, and into the next season of love! You're right, it will be July 4th before we know it! The taco roll up looks so good! Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteMy kinda recipe! And love seeing Flynn's sweet smile always. And you know I relate with dreaming on the season ahead always. ;) Wishing you all a blessed weekend ahead. 💗
ReplyDeleteI love hearing how you and Flynn spend your days at home together. Very similar to how Charlotte and I spend our days together. I love that we are able spend our days at home with our sweet girls homeschooling and just hanging out. This is truly such a special time. I hope you have a cozy weekend. It's supposed to be a cold one for us!
ReplyDeleteKIrby is so cute! Happy Birthday to your sweet Flynn. (I love her name)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe!
Happy birthday to your sweet girl!
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to have this time with Flynn! And the recipe looks so good . . . and I look forward to trying it. I, too, was the baby of the family and it is a special place, especially in my dad's heart!
ReplyDeleteFlynn looks so beautiful and I enjoy her smile. Homeschooling is interesting since I've done it years ago. Our daughter went to college and our son was still here and homeschooling 4 more years. He'd go with me at times to WA where M was at in college. He helped unload all the things for her into dorm or house 1st year. It's a bit warmer with some rain. No freezing nights for now. Happy weekend. 😊
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daughter! I love this recipe and will be making it soon. Our serving area looks like that too:) YUM! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo~ It has been so fun watching Flynn grow up to be such a beautiful young woman!
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me think about my time with my baby, Collin. He was 6 years younger than our oldest, so when Ted graduated and was out and about, I had many, many days at home with just Collin. Then Ted got married and I had even more days with just Collin and I would thank God all the time for giving me 6 years of difference between the boys. It made for some very sweet days with my boy. And those taco rolls!!! YUM! And that's how we serve dinner too. It's all on the stove and we line up with our plates.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great way to serve dinner to me. We like to eat taco salads. Everyone in my family likes to build theirs in a different order, so passing dishes doesn't work. I just make a buffet on the counter, too.
ReplyDeleteThose look yummy and would make a nice appetizer for parties. I noticed your comment on not being able to find stuffed pasta shells either. I’m in Ohio. So strange!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love avocado toast too!
That looks like a fun easy meal I may copy. Flynn sounds like a wonderful girl.. as do all your kids. The products of good parenting.
ReplyDeleteFlynn has the nicest and warmest smile. Isn't it something that she's a teenager now? The taco roll-ups look scrumptious, especially with all those sides! I hope you and Flynn have many more special and fun-filled days ahead, Billie Jo. : )
