Hello! Happy Friday! The week passed quickly around here, as December weeks do. After Mocha's vet appointment on Tuesday, the girls and I had a wonderful visit with my Mom at her assisted living home. It is decorated beautifully for Christmas! This is the door to go inside. And the inside is just as festive and cozy! My Mom was so happy to see us. We had a wonderful visit and left just as her lunch was being served.
Isn't she beautiful? I can only hope to be as happy, pleasant, and lovely as she is when I am 85. Wednesday afternoon, Madison, Flynn, Steve, and I took a dear family friend to Pittsburgh for an appointment. We spent some time downtown enjoying the Christmas festivities, and Steve even took a selfie!
POV: Two middle-aged parents and the kids who aren't embarrassed to be seen taking a selfie with them. Thursday, we returned home, but not before stopping at an old favorite diner on the way. Pie and coffee pics courtesy of Madison.
What a wonderful family! I love that your children enjoy taking selfies with you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fun and festive week! The decorations on that door are great and your mom is indeed beautiful. I hope my face shows happiness and kindness like hers when I'm that age!
ReplyDeleteYes, your Mom lights up with happiness. Sounds like a wonderful week for you all. Have a super cozy winter weekend my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love all of this: pie, your beautiful mother and the fancy door, your sweet girls selfie-ing with you and Steve. So so good! Plus the cozy finish?!
ReplyDeleteYour Mother looks wonderful and so happy! I know this makes you happy, Billie Jo. Now, those pies are making me want a slice. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour family photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour mom is so cute and I love her place all decorated.
ReplyDeleteThe diner would be fun to go to. You don't see those around much.
Cute pic of the family too!
I'm right there with you...so glad to have kids who don't mind a selfie with their mom, even in a pubic place!! Lovely family, lovely moms (both of you!) and it looks like the month is simple, sweet, and just as it should be. Again, thanks for the inspiration - you keep me on track! Mary
ReplyDeleteYour lovely mum looks to be thriving. It must be such a relief to know she is so well cared for. Xx
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all your news and your momma. She looks happy. I also think your blog looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it all. I made fudge with one daughter yesterday. Today it's cookies with one son. It's all spread out, but I'm enjoying it.
Blessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
What a beautiful festive entryway to where your mother lives. She is a pretty lady. I noticed your glasses. And I love them. I'm so glad you mentioned them. There's no way I could order my progressives through the mail (mostly because I'm super sensitive when measurements aren't precise), but this idea really needs to catch on with traditional places where some of us need to purchases glasses. What a fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post :) The assisted living did a great job on the decor! My MIL is in an assisted living and I think they need to up their game with the decorations :)
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so pretty! And that diner looks like a place we would make a favorite, for sure!
Hope you have a great week!
I had to come back and tell you that I just purchased your book! As I was scrolling on your blog, I saw your book and it felt like a kindred moment :) My book Notes from a Writer's Heart seems similar to yours. I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteLove all of the pics and looks like it was such wonderful Christmas memories made! And I adore those glasses. So cute!! And to be able to change them out as an accessory sounds so fun. 😍
ReplyDeletePS: your Mom is a treasure and looks so healthy and happy. Her place is precious in how they decorate. Love it!!
