Good Friday morning! I wonder when my mind will fully accept and understand that December and Christmas are here. I can't explain it. Time is literally spinning out of control. It is like that scene in movies where they use pages in a calendar flipping rapidly to show the passage of time! I want to hold up a sign that says, "SLOW DOWN~Middle Age Woman Crossing!" In the absence of that, I will have to slow down and focus on each moment of this festive time.
First up is lightning and enjoying this beautiful Danish Advent Candle. I absolutely love this tradition that Nicolas shared with us. Madison gifted me this beautiful candle we light each evening during dinner as we count down the days until Christmas.
I LOVE that advent candle. I am going to put that on my list for next year. It is just awesome! Just remind yourself to stay in the moment and enjoy. That's what I tell myself too. Have a great weekend Billie Jo!!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! I love the nostalgic ads from the past. The soup and sandwich looks especially good. That advent candle is a wonderful Christmas tradition. I hope you have a cozy weekend, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI know I was on vacation for part of it, in which case time freezes. But I don't know where November went because it was JUST Halloween! I love that Advent candle, I am going to put it on my list for next year. Have a cozy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love that candle; I have to get one next year!
ReplyDeleteThe advent candle is just beautiful! Vintage Christmas cards and paper just tug at my heart. <3
ReplyDeleteI am the same way - have NO idea how its December. I usually put my tree up in November but still dont have it up because I CANT BELIEVE ITS TIME!
ReplyDeleteThat candle is the COOLEST thing I've ever seen - where did you get it?
Or more - where did Madison get it LOL
DeleteBillie Jo, just wait til the sign says "Slow Down.. Old Woman Crossing". It takes me forever to do anything these days! And, these days are flying by fast.
ReplyDeleteHave a cozy, Christmasy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your graphic here. I love vintage too and some of those you posted reminded me of my parents. I remember my making festive drinks with 7-Up. I used to drink it out of a bottle. I agree, time goes by way to fast these days!
ReplyDeleteTime, as you said, Billie Jo, certainly does seem to be spinning out of control. I guess it's up to us to put the breaks on and slow ourselves down and do our best to savor every moment as we can. I love the vintage images...especially the soup n' sandwich one. Brings back great memories of childhood! Have a lovely holiday season!
ReplyDeleteThat candle is so cool! I never saw one like that.
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage recipes and pictures too.
You are spot on...yes, it can fly by, but trying to slow down is just what we need. Even a little time with feet up, hot cocoa at the end of the day. And oh, that candle - love it! Bringing back vintage recipes is a terrific idea...let's try and just pace ourselves and do what we can do, and you know what? If something doesn't get done, it'll be okay. We'll both know the other has the same goal in mind, and it'll keep us on track!
ReplyDeleteYour posts always uplift me, Billie Jo. Wishing you a lovely day, friend.
ReplyDeleteOh, that candle is absolutely beautiful! 😍 I’m so glad to see Mocha is healing up nicely. Enjoy your snuggle time!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear Mocha is recovering well. I like that Advent candle! I can see those calendar pages flipping by. I'm with you about slowing down!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the Advent candle. Time does go quickly, but you are enjoying every moment. It's so good that Mocha is doing well. Merry on!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful Advent candle. I love celebrating the Advent of the Christ-child.
ReplyDeleteWhat good news that Mocha is feeling better. It was fun to see the vintage advertising. It does seem as if life was simpler then.
Blessings,
Betsy
Nice advent candle you received!! I have been going through advent days on Ann Voskamp's website and printed out something available to read and remember about CHRISTmas! Good memories of years ago as it was different back then with no internet nor cell phones. P and I were at a memorial service today for a friend who died day before Thanksgiving. He was in the Marines and Loreta was given a flag after it was unfolded then folded back up by 2 Marine men. Interesting. Dan was quite the man we knew that had good memories of what he did for us. I need to get decorations out now for Christmas. I had some Christmas cards sent today and need more done soon! God bless and have a good weekend!

The advent candle is beautiful, and far more elegant than the ones we could find. I will need to broaden my search next year. Xx
ReplyDeleteThat advent candle is spectacular. What a wonderful tradition. The older I get the more life whizzes by. Starting off this holiday season not feeling my best I think I'm just going to embrace that I never have any control over the speed at which the season passes. No sense trying. I love your nostalgic pictures. Takes me back to my childhood. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the candle! Time really is flying right by and I am trying to JUST BREATHE and enjoy each moment. The stress of the Holidays can be a lot, I don't want to feel that way this year:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
