It's Wednesday, Right?

Because having a holiday on Monday throws me off for the rest of the week. Our Memorial Day was quiet this year. The absence of a traditional parade, however, did not take away from the recognition that so many gave up everything for others. A good friend of mine shared this photo on her Facebook page, and I think it sums up  Memorial Day beautifully.

Our day was hot, humid, and stormy. We took a Jeep ride around the lake, I did some laundry, and we had Steve's delicious hamburgers for dinner. It was a peaceful day. Just the way I like them. Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends. Thank you for visiting.

  3. Excellent photo. It's still hot and humid here in the Southern Tier of NY. I Love your hair, Billie Jo, smiles. Still no barbershops or beauty salons open here, sigh.

  8. No parades, blah! Just a few years ago, when my son was in the Old Guard (U.S. Army), stationed in D.C., at Arlington (Tomb of the Unknown Soldier), for military funerals, processions, etc., and lots of parades, we watched him march in the Memorial Day parade. It was amazing. The Vice President was at the Tomb, it was quite memorable. I hope things go back to normal soon, not the "new normal", ha. Kids need to grow up going to parades, hearing the bands play, getting candy thrown to them. Ah well. Your burger, yum! We also had burgers, they are the very essence of Memorial Day celebrating!

  10. Here in Indiana it's all about the Indy 500 on Sunday so that tradition fell to Covid 19 too. Monday was beautiful and hot here in Fort Wayne. Love the little dog collar!

  11. Looks perfect to me! We had a similar day. Very quiet but I didn't mind one bit. I can't wait to try one of Steve's famous burgers. Looks delicious! And tater tots... YUM!

  12. It sounds (and looks) like a perfect day! From the look of that one photo, Mocha would agree. What a sobering picture of the soldiers in the cemetery and a good reminder of the cost of our freedom. Enjoy the rest of your week!

  13. My week's been a bit mixed up even though I worked Monday. I've been working earlier in the day, and it gets confusing sometimes. ~wink~
