Summer So Far!

Peyton spoiled Flynn on her last day of 3rd Grade. We celebrated the release of Toy Story 4 with a fun cupcake party before the movie, which was received with mixed reviews here. The adults loved it; the kids were a bit disappointed with the ending. But it was fun just the same!

Our flowers are doing beautifully! Some of our vegetables are peeking out too. And I am eating garden lettuce every single day. We spent an afternoon with my beautiful mother in her lovely assisted living home. Isn't she the sweetest?! And recently, we enjoyed a visit with an awesome friend and her hubby who were passing through on their way to a dream vacation.

We wrapped up our Fourth of July festivities with dinner and dessert before the fireworks on Saturday night. And of course, we get dressed for Mass and dinner on Saturday nights.

In my experience, summer flies by after the Fourth of July. So enjoy each day, rain or shine! And don't be too sad. Because...

All of this is coming right behind!

  2. I too loved the tee shirt your friend was wearing, I will always say yes to a new adventure. We have yet to see the new Disney Toy Story film but 4 out of the 6 grandchildren have with mixed reviews. Those cupcakes look delicious.

  3. You (and Peyton) always find the best ways to celebrate the fun stuff! We haven't seen Toy Story 4 yet since movies are a treat for our kids and I think they'd rather see The Lion King. (The adults are firmly in the Toy Story 4 camp.) Have a wonderful Monday my friend!

  5. I know exactly what you mean about time flying! I feel like after school starts it's about 3 days til Christmas. I've been meaning to ask, where do you get your Rae Dunn? I found some on Amazon but selection is not good and the prices are a little ridiculous sometimes.

  9. Hurray for Flynn!! And what a fun way to celebrate the end of a school year and the beginning of summer. I'd love to see Toy Story 4 but that means I'd have to binge 2 and 3. How wonderful you are eating straight from the garden, fresh lettuce everyday, yum!! Your flowers are bursting with color, so pretty!! You and your mom share the same lovely smile and I love your friends shirt. How exciting for them to go on a dream vacation !
    Happy Summer!

  17. I love how you celebrate! It looks like I'll have to wait for Toy Story 4 for when it's streaming. Or can a 51 year old woman go see that without kids? Your MOM is adorable; just like you.
    Happy summer!

  20. Summer will be over for us in about 3 weeks -- where did it go? I did not care much for the whole Forky story line, although I do have a kid who would latch on to the weirdest things!!
