Monday Morning Coffee

Weekend vibes.

Good Monday morning, my friends. How was your weekend? Here in Maryland, it was rainy and windy! Of course, it was the perfect weather for hibernating, reading, napping, sipping coffee, and watching movies. I also crossed a few long overdue household chores off my list, which was good! Oh, and I am not one bit embarrassed to tell you how excited I was on Saturday when I got a delivery at my door! What would cause such excitement in my blissfully mundane day? I'm glad you asked.

A new vacuum cleaner, of course! Our vacuum quit working...ahem...a while ago, and suffice it to say, I was more than ready to put this new one together and get to it! And that, my friends, is something that made me happy this weekend. That and some cozy time with these two watching some true crime.

Peyton sent this picture of her Valentine's Day dessert!

While we enjoyed these amazing soft sugar cookies with whipped, not-too-sweet icing that Masion made.

Today is homeschooling, laundry, and Breakfast for Dinner. We had planned to do that yesterday, but the day got away from us, and we ended up on the couch hungry and tired, so Nicolas made the executive decision.

( One of our favorites from our favorite...Seinfeld. )

Anyway, we plan on waffles, bacon, eggs, and fresh fruit. Then, it is cozy time with The Bachelor, who we fear is beginning to make some poor decisions. Exactly how many women can you "feel a connection to" at the same time???? And if that many, is it truly a connection? It's almost as if these people aren't really going on the show to find true love but rather to find some sort of social media stardom. But that can't be, right?? It's Reality TV! ; )

Have a cozy Monday, my friends. Thank you for visiting!

Billie Jo

Peytons heart goodie is so cute! And I could eat one of those cupcakes right now. :)
It's snowing and blowing here, very cold too! I'm ready for Spring!

I'm glad that you got a new vacuum. Isn't it funny how things like that or a new washing machine or dryer makes us women folk happy? !

Have a good week, my friend. Stay cozy and warm.

  7. I'd have been excited about a new vacuum as well. All the Valentine's day goodies look delicious. Oh, breakfast for dinner, one of my favorites, enjoy! And I'm just shocked to hear that some of those Bachelor people don't seem sincere ;) Have a great week.

  8. I am a sugar cookie gal, so Madison''s sugar cookies are calling my name. They look so moist and Yummy! And Peyton's Valentine dessert looks delightful. I'm glad you got some rain. That's always a good thing. We've had some rain here too. Stay warm and cozy, and have a terrific February week, Billie Jo. Oh, and your side bar birdy picture with the window and snow is so charming. LOVE that. ; )

  15. Hum... tonight may be an Arby's night! I am snuggled under a blanket and have no desire to get up and moving.

All of the desserts look yummy. The heart shaped cast iron is super cute. And who doesn't love a new vacuum?!! *smile*

  16. I get excited over a new vacuum too and I'd love to find one that does a great job when it comes to all of the husky fur that consumes the house. Those desserts look yummy! I hope you all had a nice Valentines Day.

  17. Had to chuckle about your comments regarding The Bachelor. We are not fans. I'm sure you're right, some people are just looking for exposure, not true love and relationship.

I’ve had a good number of cast iron pieces over the years, but have not ever seen this heart-shaped pan. I like it!

  18. That heart shaped pan is adorable! And I'm hearing that the Bachelor isn't getting good ratings this season. Might be time for a shake up! I think they need new producers more than anything. The format and the "can I steal you for a second" and the man never saying, "Uh, give me a few minutes and I'll come find you." Now that I want to see! That would be a true gentleman!

  19. I love that big cookie.
My part of Maryland was windy, snowy, icy, and cold. :)

  20. I think one is a full blown adult when you can get excited over household appliances. I was thrilled to get a hand held clothes steamer for Christmas.

  21. The new vacuum seems to be doing a good job,
    new ones always work better!
    Your daughter's dessert looks successful!
It's also cold here yesterday and today!
It is also very humid, so we will hardly go to work!!
Have a beautiful day Billie Jo !

  22. Here I am again at 10:45 at night finally reading blogs! It's been a busy day but I've been home for most of it. We've had snow for the last 24 hours straight although not a huge accumulation. Maybe 6-8 inches and COLD. It's well below zero now and supposed to be colder the next few days before a short warmup.
That chocolate chip heart looks wonderful. My favorite, although the other cookies look good too. I'm glad you've had a stressfree and family filled weekend. And I like your vacuum cleaner too.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  24. I love breakfast for dinner too, smiles. Can you believe I have never ever seen an episode of the Bachelor? Have a beautiful day my friend.

  25. I guess being an adult means that we are excited over a new vacuum. The dessert looks delicious. It is cold and snowy here with chances for snow all week and I am thinking that other than farm chores it is a good week to stay in and do cleaning, reading, etc.

  26. Such a cute mug in the first photo :) We love having breakfast for dinner.

  27. Peyton's Valentine's dessert looks lovely. It must have almost been a shame to cut into it :)
I would also be excited about getting a new vacuum cleaner. Xx

  28. I love your Bachelor updates! Haha! I don't watch it, but it sure sounds interesting. Love the Valentine desserts! That Peyton is a wonder with her baked goodies! And yay for a new vacuum! Always a good thing in my book. I love to clean, but I don't love to cook. Hope you and the pups stay snuggly and warm!

  30. Your weekend sounds like the perfect cozy retreat! I can totally relate to the excitement of receiving a new vacuum—it’s those simple joys that make a day feel a little brighter. And I love the idea of Breakfast for Dinner—such a fun and delicious choice! As for The Bachelor, it seems like they’re all about connections... but maybe a bit too many for one person, right? 😄 Enjoy your cozy Monday!

  32. Hi Billie Jo! Oh, the joy of getting a new vacuum!! Please let us know how you liked that brand. The - clean air- part intrigued me. Payton's Valentine cookie looked delicious as did the frosted cookies ;0) Breakfast for dinner is always a cozy, stay at home meal. That, along with your favorite tv show is always a hit!! Hugs and Love, Barb

  33. I haven't seen that show though from what I'm told, it's more just entertainment. I don't know either how one person can "feel" connected to that many others. But all in good fun, I say.

Love that Lodge has a heart-shaped skillet. What fun!!!!!!
