Hello, and Happy Friday! But wait! There's more. Happy Valentine's Day! I'm not quite sure how that happened since last week was Christmas, right? It actually did look like Christmas here this week—cold and cozy as can be.
After almost two years, I finally finished our dining room!
And when I was looking for something to put on the wall, I found the most perfect thing.
This Norman Rockwell picture.
It is the exact same one my mom had hanging in our house when I was young. I like to think she sent it to me, and now I think of her every time I see it.
Thankfully, Etsy and eBay have several other Norman Rockwell items that I could purchase.
And now I am done.
Speaking of my Mom, I miss her.
I am showing myself some grace, slowing down, doing less, and resting more. Thanks for the love, my friends. Have a Happy Valentine's Day, too!
Billie Jo
Happy Valentines Day! I have always likes Norman Rockwell and that picture is so sweet! And even better that your mom had it too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture and that it can be a constant reminder of your sweet mom. Be gentle with yourself friend and let those waves of missing her wash over you as much as you need. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the snow as it blankets the limbs of the trees. Happy Valentines Day!! This is a special day to think about all the love you have felt throughout your life, including the love from your mom. Truly thinking of you and the deep loss you feel. The one thing I have had to learn, is that there is no time limit on grieving, because grieving is such a deep love. Your dining room is so nice and I really like your eclectic wall gallery. Hugs to you Billie Jo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day! The winter photos are so beautiful. And I love your dining room. I can picture you all enjoying wonderful meals and creating happy memories there :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day! It looks much like that here today. Cold and snowy. I love knowing that you have that special picture to remind you of your Mom when you see it. First holidays this year will be hard. The missing will never go away, but the sharp pain does smooth out. After over 35 years, I can still see my Mom in my mind and hear her voice.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Happy Valentine's Day! Your dining room looks amazing! You did an amazing job putting it together and I love how you tied together the Norman Rockwell pictures. Did you refinish the table at all or is that it's original color? I would love to have mine in a similar color. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is so classy and lovely. But still so inviting! I love the chandelier and the lighted trees!! And I notice in the Norman Rockwell, the boy is not wearing shoes! Wonder if there was some kind of meaning to that...
ReplyDeleteLove the Dining Room. I am sorry you are missing your mom. I miss mine also.

ReplyDeleteThe snowy pictures are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove the arrangement of all the pictures on the wall.
It looked like your first pictures of the snow here this week, also. Then we had rain and now most of that snow is gone. It's getting ready for more snow over the weekend, I guess.
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is beautiful, my sweet friend. You did a wonderful job.
May the Lord comfort you as you rest in this time of missing your mama.
Sending love and hugs your way. xx

ReplyDeleteHello dear friend. Your dining room turned out beautifully! I love your photo gallery wall! And what a perfect picture you found. I know you think of your mom every time you look at it. I'm glad you are showing yourself some grace, slowing down, and resting more. I've been thinking about you a lot this week. Those first weeks and months can be tough at times, as grief comes in waves and out of nowhere. I've especially been missing my mom the past few days. Every holiday has been tough for me since she passed, whether it be Christmas, Valentine's Day, or the fourth of July. Our dear moms are in the best place ever! I find peace and comfort in knowing I will see her again some day.
ReplyDeleteBilli Jo, snow in your area. We had 2 inches of snow on Friday morning. My husband stayed home from work. No snow or ice now. Thankfully I was able to drive to WA to meet my sister for lunch. Nice indoors in your house. There's good memories of you dear mom. Hugs and prayers 🙏 ❤️, Becky

ReplyDeleteThat picture was meant just for you, Billie Jo. How I love Norman Rockwell pictures, they're delightful. And it looks great right in the center of your photo gallery honoring your mom. I do know how much you miss your mom, and that quote really got to me. The photo of the snow looking out your window is beautiful. Sending you a comforting hug and love, my friend.
