- "September days have the warmth of summer in their briefer hours, but in their lengthening evenings a prophetic breath of autumn." -Rowland E. Robinson
Well, here we are! It is September! I love this month for the structure it brings to our days and the cozy it brings to our nights. I love that September brings the start of school, yet the end of the year. And I love pumpkin spice everything!
Before we jump headfirst into my favorite time of year, we can wrap up August with the last of the summer fun photos!
Peyton and Christopher took Flynn camping and horseback riding last weekend and had a ball! I am so thankful to those two for sharing all the fun, naturey things I didn't!
We also had a wonderful visit with my amazing momma! We talked and laughed and watched an old movie with Doris Day. My mom is the best person I will ever know.
This princess got cleaned and clipped, and now she resembles a little fawn once more.
I treated myself to a little fall gift, as women should occasionally do. Etsy is the place to find anything and everything.
Well, that is it for today, my friends. I hope you have a wonderful long weekend!
Thanks for visiting!
BillieJo
I was ready for September too. That's a mighty sweet picture of you and your Mom... and that little doggie... how cute! Wishing for you a well September, one filled with joy and fun, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy September! Aaaand it's your birthday month! Have a great weekend! Xx
ReplyDeleteIt's September and a bit cool this morning. We had rain 🌧 yesterday which was good to finally have as there were a lot fires going on. Nice photo of family activities and you visiting your mom. I remember watching a cooking show with her when she lived in a nursing home. Enjoy your weekend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post and update! Your kiddos are beyond sweet and so is your dear Mom. Hope you have a super weekend! How did it get to being September already?? Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteHappy September! It's your time to shine! Love how you love Fall:)
ReplyDeleteYay for family time and the sweetness of September days!! I'm ready for it.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are beautiful! Are they twins? You and your Mom look so much alike. Love the slippers!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny! No, they are not. They are as close as twins, though!
DeleteHappy September. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! Sure feels like fall here on September 1. We have had a rainy day and I even wore a jacket when we went out! I love those cute slippers, and that is a lovely picture of you and your mama. I hope that you have a cozy long September weekend. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI am with you, hooray for fall! Such fun end of summer activities and a good visit with your mom. Love those slippers! I am hoping to do a deep clean this weekend and start my decorating.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy September! Looks like you had a nice wrap up to August. Enjoy every moment with your sweet Mama!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo, thanks for stopping by my blog. We have warm -hot weather until mid October. The grands started school the first week of August. I have to take my patrotic decor down next week. I usually get things done sooner, but I have to take it east. I enjoyed all your pictures. You are blessed to have your mom. You furbaby is so cute! You always have great blog graphics! Do you get them somewhere, or just on the web? Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I get my blog graphics from Creative Market. So many to choose from!
DeleteI tried to change the spelling on patriotic, but I had already hit the post button.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteBillie Jo, I don't love autumn as much as you do, as summer and bare feet and the hot sunshine on the pool deck are my favorites, but I'm kind of excited about it. My girls are all about pumpkin spice, and I'll be making pumpkin muffins before long. I love how your older ones take Flynn on adventures:). I also love how you love your mama. Have a nice weekend, it's supposed to hit low 90's here...our first day of school is next Tuesday: 92 degrees...
ReplyDeleteIt's still pretty hot here, in the upper 90's forecast all next week so even though the calendar says fall, it sure doesn't feel like it. I was looking forward to cool, fallish London next week but it will be in the 80's there too. Ick. And no A/C anywhere to speak of.
ReplyDeleteYour older girls are so sweet to include Flynn in all that they do. Horseback riding looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad you get to spend so much time with your Mom.
Blessings,
Betsy
I'm so happy it's September, though the weather looks to be more like the middle of summer next week. Your girls really favor each other. It's so nice they are friends as well as sisters. By the way you really favor your mother. Such a nice photo of the two of you! Love your slippers, too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those slippers! Gee, being tall means my feet are big (insert eye roll here) wonder if I can get some in my size?! I will check! It's the best time of year at least to me...I want it to linger. We had lovely cool days last week, then this coming week we're back to the 90's. Not my style...I would love a long, cold, snow me in until March season! It looks like all's well...and I love that your kids spend time together, you know by how how I feel about that...oh time flies too quickly. Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteHello my friend! Happy September! I'm so ready for the weather to match up to the month :) I love the way your kids are with Flynn and the way you describe your mom :) It's so sweet.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my blog address has changed. I'm not sure if you have to do anything to update the new address, or if this comment will lead you straight back to me. It went from a custom domain to the "milliescozycottagelife.blogspot.com.
Let me know how it goes :)
I love this time of the year too. Your slippers are too cute. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkin slippers are spooktacular! Great to see the picture with your mom and your pup does look like a fawn. How fun. Happy Fall and Boogie Boogie.
ReplyDeleteFlynn's horse back riding day sounds like so much fun! I used to love doing that at my brother-in-law's ranch. Those are cute pumpkin slippers! Your doggy looks content with the new cut, and looks so cute with the flower collar. This is a dear picture of you and your mom.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to mention, that's exciting news about buying a house in Maryland. And I wish Steve well in his new job as a consultant. Looking forward to seeing all things Fall at your new place!
Have a safe trip to Maryland coming up, my friend. : )
