Good Monday morning! This is my vibe right now, my friends. Just dragging a bit this morning and wanting to stay snuggled up with Mocha a little bit longer. Flynn came down with a cold, and it slowly progressed over the weekend in the textbook way colds seem to do. She has had everything from a sore throat to a stuffy nose and the general yucky feeling to the relentless cough. She and I spent Saturday and Sunday on the couch, finally finishing The Walking Dead with bits and pieces of The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner in between. Everything else can wait. For now, we rest, drink soup from mugs, and watch movies we have seen many times before. Fortunately, Flynn felt well enough for our Friday night's traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner.
I made the best Irish Beef Stew and again discussed why we only have it once a year. Madison brought the most delicious Irish Soda Bread, and Peyton did it again with an amazingly perfect Baileys Irish Cream Chocolate Cake. I will link these recipes below and strongly urge you to try them!
Today the green and gold are packed away, and soon the bunnies and eggs will appear. Tonight I am making homemade chicken tenders with sweet potatoes and green beans and then I plan on watching The Bachelor to see if Zach can get closer to deciding which of the remaining women he will choose to spend the rest of his life with. Because Reality TV is the perfect place to do that.
Well, I hope you have a cozy Monday. Thanks for visiting. I am always glad you do!

I hope Flynn is better soon...you spent the weekend doing exactly the right thing - R&R with soup and favorite movies is the perfect remedy. Friday's celebration sounds like such fun - yay for that time together! Sending wishes for a good week...as always, look forward to catching up Friday :)
ReplyDeleteYou did Paddy’s Day well by the sound of it. That stew needs to make the menu other times too.

ReplyDeleteYour St. Patrick's Day table is stunning!!! Everything is perfect. I don't know how you managed all of this while you were sick! And the food looks so delicious! I am going to try the stew, but edit it for a regular dutch oven. I can't wait to see what you do for Easter! I see you already have a sweet nest on your sidebar.
ReplyDeleteDearest Billie Jo,

ReplyDeleteHappy St Patricks Day! Baileys Irish Cream Chocolate Cake sounds DIVINE, I love a bit of Baileys. I'm Irish and we never celebrate St Patricks Day as much as you guys in the US do! I might wear a green top but that's about it ! Next year I will make the Baileys cake I think!

ReplyDeleteaahh, poor Flynn. I'm sorry she was sick. Those nasty colds are awful, and the coughs seem to last a long time. Your St. Patrick's Day table setting is lovely, and Irish Stew and Soda Bread! Sounds delicious! Oh my, Peyton's Irish Cream Chocolate cake looks amazing! That table cloth is perfect for this holiday, and the candle and festive touches add a special touch.
