Friday And A Festive Weekend

Hello! Happy Friday! I am enjoying my coffee in a new favorite mug from a new favorite restaurant. Last week at the beach, we discovered a new place for breakfast, and it was delicious. They had Buckwheat Pancakes! I love them and don't find them often, so I was happy!

Can you believe we are halfway through February? Sunday is Superbowl, and although my Steelers are not playing, and I usually have little interest in the actual game, I am rooting for The Bengals this year. Something about underdogs and hard workers and a young quarterback leading a team that hasn't seen this much excitement in thirty years makes me want to cheer for them. And then there are the commercials. Although I fear they are getting out of hand. Now they are showing previews of commercials!?! I miss the olden days when everything wasn't such a THING, you know? Speaking of the good old days...

I found my magazine! I am not a magazine reader, per se. However, I saw an ad for this magazine, and I knew I would love it. It is full of nostalgia, photos, recipes, puzzles, and more from those simpler times. I often say I was born at the wrong time, and this magazine lets me pretend for a bit that I am back in the 1950s! This sounds very much like a commercial, but I promise you, it isn't! Here is a link to the website. Just click HERE. Enjoy!

I hope you all have a good weekend. We are planning brunch on Sunday morning to celebrate Valentine's Day with the kids. Nothing fancy. Some pastries, fruit, coffee, and juice. Other than that and the big game, we have no plans except for mass. How about you, my friends? Any plans for you this February weekend?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. If you like Good Old Days you also might like Reminisce magazine too. I currently subscribe to both and like them equally.

  4. I love your new mug! We have a favorite spot for breakfast in Isle of Palm called "The Sea Biscuit Cafe" that we love to have breakfast at when are at the beach. I don't think I've ever tried buckwheat pancakes, but now I want to! My husband likes to watch the super bowl, but I'm not really into it. I do like the food that goes along with it - we are making nachos and wings so that'll be fun. Have a great weekend! Not exactly sure what we are doing tomorrow, no big plans so we will just play it by ear. Enjoy your Valentine's brunch! It sounds like my kind of brunch for sure.

  6. Interesting magazine. I think I've seen it or may have read one years ago. Off to the coast this p.m. with friends. I got some clothes in a bag last evening. They'll get packed soon this a.m. Finding new mugs is fun. Almost got one in AK but didn't. Enjoy your time with family celebrating Valentine's day. God bless.

  7. That looks like such a cool magazine! And I'm not sure I even know what buckwheat is - I need to look that up.
Sounds like a fun weekend ahead! I'm going to Matt's for the Super Bowl...we're going to make fun and kind of healthy snacks. I love the commercials too! Lol And he took valentines day off of work for me. We plan to go for a hike and he's going to make me steak and lobster! I feel like one blessed girl.
Have a great weekend dear Friend. xo 💗 💝

  8. I ordered buckwheat pancakes one time at a restaurant thinking they sounded healthy and I would love them. I took one bite and knew I wouldn't be able to eat them. I am not a picky eater at all but they were just horrible. I felt bad, but I just couldn't eat them, so I ended up ordering a regular stack. A Valentine's brunch with your kiddos sounds nice. I don't currently live in CA but since I was born in Los Angeles I think it's only right that I root for the Rams. Either way, I'm hoping it's a good game. Mostly looking forward to the commercials. LOL Enjoy your weekend.

  9. I'm a Bucs fan but rooting for the Bengals too! Both teams have a Florida Gator on them. The Bengals kicker who won the game for them 3 weeks ago is a Gator!...I'm with you, I prefer to be surprised with the commercials. What happened to that?! I would love that magazine too. I often say the same thing about being born in the wrong era. Especially when it comes to technology!! lol

  10. The 'Good Old Days' Magazine sounds wonderful. I would love to browse through that as well. The pancakes sound Yummy. There's nothing like pancakes, and I just made some simple ones too. My son loves to watch football still. Me, not so much on tv, but I did see every game he played all through junior high and high school. : )

Happy Valentine's Day, Billie Jo. The brunch sounds Yummy. I will check out the link right now.
