Hello! And Happy October! Yes, the most glorious month of the year for me has arrived. I simply love this month. I am often asked why that is. Why do I love October? Well, I love the feeling it brings. I love the clear, crisp mornings with that touch of coolness in the air that greets me when I take Mocha out. I love the sunny afternoons that aren't so hot. I love the cozy earlier evenings that bring us together indoors. I love seeing the green leaves slowly change to their vibrant red, gold, and yellow shades. And then, I love the blustery days that blow those same leaves through the air when their time is complete. I adore the smell of October. It is crispness mixed with the scent of crunchy leaves that takes me right back to my childhood, walking along 5th Street trick-or-treating on Halloween. I love the pumpkins and the music and anticipation. I also love the calmness of this month. September is a fun yet busy month for us. November begins the preparation for the holiday season. October rests between them. Thirty-one days of fun, rest, yummy treats, and spooky movies. Did I mention the snuggle times with a cup of pumpkin coffee in the afternoons?
Soup sounds really good. I was thinking along the same lines, grin. I have to work today and tomorrow. Who knows what Sunday will bring-I am hoping not to have too work (been covering shifts due to qurantined folks). I hope you have a beautiful weekend, Billie Jo. smiles
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo~ Yes, it's here! Last night I celebrated by watching, Cruella...perfect movie for October! There is definitely a chill in the air this morning, but this afternoon it will be in the 70's, perfect weather for me. Tomorrow, my kids are coming over, so I will make chili and cinnamon rolls...yes, we love October! Love your decorations, Billie Jo! Happy October!
ReplyDeleteI also love this month, too. It's finally, slowly beginning to cool off here. We hit up the pumpkin stand last week and it was fun to pick out pumpkins and gourds for the porch. I also got a really pretty mum. The crockpot soup sounds delicious and perfect for the first weekend of October. I'm going to make an apple spice cake this weekend - I'm very excited for that! Happy October!
ReplyDeleteI never thought of October that way but you are right!
ReplyDeleteOctober is the best month of the entire year. No explanation involved. Also, October 1st is my mom's birthday so it's special for that reason also.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds perfect. It is a beautiful time of year and I'm looking forward to some crisp, clear mornings. X
ReplyDeleteI love all of your reasons for celebrating October. This weekened we are going to visit family, which will mean a drive through the mountains. Hoping to see lots of colors!

ReplyDeleteWe took a hike and now we're watching some football. It does feel like football weather! And I'm excited about your Jeep news! I got a duck the first week I drove mine and then I ordered some ducks to leave on the Jeeps I see. If I see YOU....I'll leave you a yellow duck! Hugs!
