Good Monday morning! I hope you had a lovely weekend doing whatever makes you happy. We had a quiet weekend here, doing ordinary things, and that made me happy. Yesterday afternoon, we took what most likely will be the final boat ride of the season. As much as I love fall, and you know I do, I will miss summer a bit more now. Living on the lake has unearthed a love of summer I haven't known since I was a kid riding my bike around the block, swimming in another lake, catching fireflies, and playing Ghost in the Graveyard with our neighbor Ronnie. But, the seasons come and go, time passes, and we embrace the changes, all while knowing each will return again. Here are a few pictures from our boat ride yesterday afternoon.
Today brings homeschool, laundry, and dinner prep. Dinner will be pork loin, egg noodles, and some steamed broccoli. I might even make some Halloween funfetti cupcakes if I feel ambitious. Have a great Monday, my friends. Enjoy!

The lake pictures are beautiful. It would be so nice to live near a body of water like that. It would feel so life giving. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos from your boat ride! Not sure I'd ever be inside if I lived on a lake. Hope you have a wonderful Monday and rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteI always dreamed of living on a lake. I would love just to look out at the water during the day! Enjoy your day and this beautiful weather! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe lake pictures are beautiful! Thanks for sharing them with us! Hope you have a great week. I am off to work here in a few and we have a crazy day with Jacob having his community choir practice after school and then his middle school choir concert tonight along with it being his birthday!
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty, and wow, to actually live on the lake, so nice! We're renting a cabin/house on a little lake in western NY state this coming weekend...even though it's forecast to rain, it'll be cozy and pretty. I miss summer too, especially now we're having some warm days, and the pool is all covered up for the winter, wah.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty there with the trees turning color. Some of ours are just starting. I admit I enjoy summer a lot too and after last winter, I'm dreading the cold and snow.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week!
Such a pretty boat ride - enjoy your Monday
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely seeing some pretty fall color where you are. Ours are just so barely beginning to show a change - usually it is late October/November for us. Halloween funfetti cupcakes sound amazing! I made chocolate - pumpkin bread this morning and I'm in the process of making chili for dinner. Have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is beautiful on your lake, Billie Jo! Your dinner sounds delicious. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo - Beautiful pictures of the last day on the lake for this season. Glad you had a good weekend. Hope the week ahead is a good one for all at your house.
ReplyDeleteThe autumn colour is looking glorious in your part of the world. X
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo, thank you for stopping by my new(ish) blog, Leaving a Legacy. It seems I can never leave blogging entirely, and after a long break, I started up again. Your visit to me enabled me to find you again! Fall is definitely my favorite season. Although I grew up experiencing seasons, I lived for 20 years of my adult life in Florida, where there is pretty much only summer. Ever since moving to the Northwest, though, and getting back to seasons, I have loved fall best of all. But I would imagine that lake-living does indeed make it hard to give up the warmth and long days of summer. Your trees are certainly looking bveautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Patti
Sounds like a perfect Monday to me! I have some zucchini to use up...maybe zucchini muffins with chocolate chips? Hhmm.
ReplyDeleteYour lake is so beautiful. Especially right now! I thinks it's wonderful how you love it there and it's inspiring that in you. I caught up on other posts and love how you decorated your porch too! Such a gorgeous spot to live. And I love this halloween blog backdrop. So cute!
I hope the rest of your week is just as cozy. Blessings. xo
Autumn is showing its beauty all around you, and the colors are similar here. Your boat ride sounds fun. Your coffee cup today is so cute. I always
ReplyDeletewonder where you get your delightful cups at. I've never heard of Ghost in the Graveyard, but it sounds like you have such pleasant memories of playing this game with your neighbor friend. Our childhoods sound very much alike, happy times and dear parents. : )
