Just A Thought On A Humid July Day

How about you, my friends?

Are you ready for cooler, colorful days and cozy, longer nights?

Or are you still loving these warm, sunny days of summer?

Whichever you prefer, whatever fuels your soul, embrace that.

And have a cozy day!

  1. I agree -- the humidity around here is tiring and my hair -- out of control!

Thanks again for the wonderful gift for winning the giveaway! You are the sweetest!

  2. I wish we could have a combination of fall and summer! I love the summer sun and the color splash for all the flowers, but not the extreme heat and humidity. Yet the thought of fall has a sense of magic and wonder with nature sprinkling color all over the place. Fall also brings out the start of sweater season which is a huge plus!

  3. Summer just arrived in the Pacific northwest, so not ready for fall yet! A great place to live if you don't care for long, hot summer days.

  4. I have had enough of summer, just saying. I am looking forward to Autumn's splendor.

  5. So I totally agree with you for the weather! I am ready for cooler crisp days certainly. But this year I am hesitant to inch closer to winter since I am a little worried that we will be home again without the luxury of being outdoors. So I also don't want to wish this time away.

  7. I _JUST_ wrote/published a post, on the very topic, of _DAMPNESS_! -grin-

How everything feels damp today, and thus, everything feels very *icky*!

I agree, I do try to live happily, in whatever season is upon me. But days like this, do make it hard.

Guess we just have to think, how lovely it will feel, when Autumn comes.

And carry on, by maybe dousing ourselves with baby powder!!!!!!!!!!

    :-) :-) :-)

  10. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I am planting a fall mix of sunflowers that will be ready in October so yes, I always look forward to the Fall. I should have a bounty of beautiful sunflowers. (I hope)

  13. I am a summer lover! However, this year I do find myself ready for autumn. Been spotting the random fallen leaf in the backyard so wonder if it will arrive a bit early this year? Hope your week has been wonderful so far!

  14. The other day I spotted a fallen leaf that was red and yellow, and I immediately thought of you, Billie Jo!
I am getting tired of my daily ponytail due to the heat. If only winter didn't come after autumn...

  18. I am good in whatever season it is, BUT... the humidity of Summer in the South is brutal. I love the Spring and I love the FALL without humidity:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

  21. Oh Yes, I'm ready for Autumn. This quote is wonderful, Billie Jo. And your words are so special about embracing whatever season we're in. Live in this moment, a good reminder...thank you.

  22. I am very much ready for fall! I actually went ahead and decorated the inside of my house for fall yesterday. LOL I just love fall, it is the coziest of seasons. Fall starts on Sept. 22nd this year, which is also my birthday. Hugs to you my friend. ~Juli

  23. Oh it's hot and sticky, I do melt in the heat, but I also love love love it. I like going barefoot, and hearing the summer sounds with the windows open, the birds and crickets. I love when everything you touch or pick up is warm, it's like free heat. In "Farmer Boy", Laura Ingalls Wilder, there's a line..."the rich get their ice in the summer, and the poor get theirs in the winter..." It's cold in this house in the winter, so I revel in the warmth, I guess. I do like dipping in the pool to cool off, of course. With that said, I also LOVE autumn. I love the crispiness of the air, the dismal forebodings of the windy days, and of course pumpkin everything!

  24. I am definitely a summer girl but this year, more than usual, I am ready for autumn days. Blackberries are appearing in the hedgerows and when I hung the washing out this morning, the air had a fresh feel to it and I'm sure a change in the weather won't be far off now. X

  26. I loved this post. I must live in the moment. In this moment, the fragrance of zucchini cake is wafting from the oven. The church is recognizing graduates this Sunday, and my youngest graduated in January. We've invited the boys to come. We'll then enjoy homemade chicken salad and sides along with zucchini cake for dessert. She hasn't had an official graduation ceremony. We'd planned it for March, because she wanted to do a bbq with friends and family. That, of course, didn't happen. Now grandparents don't want to travel. Understandable.
    Blessings,
    Laura
