Random Photos On The First Day Of Fall Friday!!!!

So it is officially Fall!!!!! Now I feel I can openly proclaim my love for this amazing season! Oh...who am I kidding? I'm too far gone for that. Anyway...Happy fall!!!!!

This week we settled into fall here...
oblivious to the fact it was 80 degrees outside...

After school, I did a lot of this.

That's right!
We started homeschool!
So far...so SUPER!

We do some schoolwork, take a break for lunch, and then we all go for a nice walk before we finish our lessons.

Sidenote:
Our princesses have been replaced by a new sheriff in town this week. : )

New favorite dinner.
Sooo good.

Fall.
Just that.

Oh, And me.
In my favorite fall pajamas!
They say "Queen of Halloween".
And do you now why I look so absurdly happy here?

Because of this!!!!!
Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on to reprise her original role of Laurie Strode in a new Halloween movie!!!!!
Ok. Here is the thing.
I LOVE the ORIGINAL Halloween movie.
John Carpenter created an outstanding movie forty years ago.
Many have followed.
I have watched some.
And some I have refused to watch.
Too much unnecessary garbage.
The original relied on amazing acting from a newcomer Jamie Lee, an original song written by John Carpenter himself, and a script filled with suspense, as opposed to random blood and gore.
Anyway, I am beyond happy that John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis are returning to this story that made such an impact on so many movies and careers, as well as Halloween in general.
Let me be clear.
This is not a family movie.
It is a suspenseful movie for adults who enjoy a good scare.
And the new installment will arrive next October!!!!
I think it is wonderful that Jamie Lee Curtis, an amazing actress with so many unforgettable roles in so many awesome films remembers and gives tribute to the one role that started her career.
And wow!
That was long!!!
Ok. I'm done.

Oh! And my dear friend Lisa from my days on Instagram just began to blog!!!
I am so happy for her! If you would like to visit her and welcome her to Blogland, her blog is located here.

Happy Friday.
Happy Weekend.
Happy fall!!!

First Day Of School 2017

Our little schoolroom opened today and we began our fifth year of homeschooling! It was a happy and cozy and successful day, and we look forward to many more.  : )

Our Second Grade student was up bright and early!

We got a picture with the Superintendent of Schools...

And a very happy Second Grade teacher.

After a delicious breakfast of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, made by our in house Cafeteria Manager Peyton...

We headed into the schoolroom, and got to work.
Our Sophomore was up and ready too!!!

This year Flynn is looking forward to studying the continents in Social Studies, making an exploding volcano in Science, and using an actual spiral notebook for dictation.

Rhett is looking forward to being done Introduction to Business and lunch. : )

Have a wonderful school year, my friends!!!

A Peek Inside...Our Schoolroom 2017

It is that time of year again! Time to dust and sweep and prepare our little schoolroom for a brand new year. We began with four, and now we are down to two students in our little academy. But it is bright and cozy just the same. Rhett is a sophomore, and Flynn is in second grade, and I imagine Peyton will be spending some time in here too. Maybe as a substitute teacher or aide? : )

Prayers for a happy, healthy school year for you all!
Thanks for visiting!

Not Really Random Photos On A Friday...Beach 2017

We spent this past week at our favorite fall getaway spot...Ocean City, Maryland. And we had fun! Our group was smaller this year...My Mom and Madison were unable to join us, and were missed...but we still had a wonderful, relaxing time.

Girl selfie before we left...
So happy Marian joined us again this year!

Selfie to send to Madison...

And after hours of driving...
We arrived.
And the ocean was waiting for us, just as we left her last year.

That is what I love about the ocean.
It is a constant in a world of change.

Our condo was super pretty...
And really clean...

And I brought along our favorite Pumpkin Spice Candle to make it cozy.

We even turned on the fireplace while we relaxed after a day at the beach.

There were early morning walks on the beach...

And playing in the water in pajamas.
Because. You are only young once.

There was mini golf...

Frozen yogurt...

Hours spent on the beach playing with beach toys that my Madison once used...

The best donuts.
Ever...

Dinners out...

And lunches too.

So many wonderful moments to tuck inside and save forever.

Oh. And one more thing.
One day this week happened to be my birthday!
That's right, dear friends...I am now 48!
I had a wonderful day!
It started with beautiful flowers delivered to me on vacation from a very special friend.

Marian surprised me with a new mug...perfect...and some delicious tea...

And because she knows me better than I know myself...
She got me the SOFTEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL blanket ever, as well some of the best fall candles that we started to burn immediately. Also, she got me the cutest navy blue ball cap, which I would show you, but am currently wearing as I type. : )

My sweet son Rhett remembered that I love Starbuck's Black Tea Lemonade, and went out and bought me one!

After I had a nice, long afternoon nap, we got ready and took our annual pictures in the lobby...

And then headed to dinner!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at our favorite hibachi restaurant, and it was amazing.

After dinner, we returned to the beach, took some photos...

And took a nice long walk.

48 years...30 with this guy by my side.
How blessed am I?

Tomorrow we pack up and head home, to our country house in the mountains.
We will be filled with love and laughter and memories to hold onto forever.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!!
