Monday Morning Coffee ~ Our Christmas Home 2023

Good Monday morning, my friends! Three weeks from today, we will wake to the joy that is Christmas Day. Until then, I plan on enjoying these December days by resisting the urge to do and, instead, simply be. And by snuggling in and enjoying our cozy Christmas home. I was more intentional with the decorating this year, choosing to use only the special things that bring us joy.

Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for visiting. I am always happy you do.

Billie Jo

  4. What a beautiful job you have done on the decorating. Everything looks so warm and inviting and such a good idea to mainly use the things you really love.

  5. Oh, I love it all, my friend. Everything looks so nice and cozy and decorated for the season. I have to say that hour glass table made me smile. I love those, and gave mine to Nel a few years ago. But I've never seen an hour glass table before! Your coffee corner is delightful. That stocking rack is unique too. I still have all my kids stockings as well. It's hard to part with them, isn't it? It looks like you have a lot of sentimental ornaments on the tree. Those are the best ones. Your nativity set is lovely, and I love the statue of Mary in your dining room, it's beautiful.

A Merry Christmas season to you, Billie Jo.

  6. Oh my gosh, I just love how comforting and cozy your decorations are. That stocking... rack? Is that what it's called? Well it's brilliant. We don't have a fireplace so we hang our stockings on our banister, but that is real slick. I love that you have all matching Rudolph stockings too. Seems perfect for such a big fan of that! Will you have your Rudolph breakfast this year?

  9. Beautiful as I would expect from my wonderful celebratory friend! You make things magical. I love your focus on being instead of doing. By the way, my brain had not yet told me it's three weeks from today!
Glad I finished the last of my "big gift" shopping yesterday. Now to do the making!

  11. Your home is so beautiful and peaceful. How sweet to have stockings that match for everyone. I've never seen a rack like that for stockings before. Great idea for those without a fireplace. We finally have a fireplace and no kids around for Christmas this year. Mandy's family will be at the in-laws for Christmas, which as it should be. We were blessed to be together for Thanksgiving. (Well, I wasn't because of the flu, but you get my meaning.) I always said I wouldn't make our kids feel guilty for being with their "other" family for holidays. It makes life so much easier for them.
I think my favorite of your decor is the beautiful nativity. I've never seen one like it before. I made mine our first Christmas that we were married so it's 45 years old. I still can't believe that no pieces have been broken through all of our moves.
I hope you continue to enjoy your beautiful home and lake view and remember the reason we're celebrating.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  15. Love seeing your home all decorated and cozy. It looks so pretty. I felt a bit faint when you started with 'three weeks from today. . . ' ! I received the first Christmas card in the mail today, and I was thinking I still have LOTS of time to get mine out. It always takes longer than I expect.

  16. Billie Jo, your home is beautifully decorated. I would be hard pressed to pick my favorite. I enjoyed seeing your Advent wreath and also your nativity. It's beautiful. And your tree is awesome. I love the lights shining through and where you have it placed in front of the windows is perfect because it reflects even more light. Enjoy these cozy days over the next three weeks, dear one.

  18. I absolutely love your decorations! Your tree is gorgeous and perfect in front of those windows. The Nativity, the signs, the little white village - all so cute. And your stocking holder is such a great idea. We don't have a mantle and I hang mine off a shelf, but they aren't very stable. So, where did you get that?

  24. Everything looks beautiful! I love how inviting, warm, and cozy twinkling lights makes the rooms. I also think it's a good idea to be intentional with what you use to decorate. I did that a few years ago and started using things that were more nostalgic to me than anything. It is so much more meaningful now! Thanks for sharing, my friend!
