Well, Hello There, Dad!

I was sitting on the couch talking on the phone with my sister about our dear Mom and her Alzheimers journey when I looked up and saw this visitor. I knew right away. I felt right away that it was my Dad telling me he was near and everything would be just fine. Thanks, Dad.

  1. The cardinal visitors I get to my feeder always make me think of Rebecca and my dad! Isn't it funny how a beautiful red bird can make us feel like our loved ones are near?

  3. Love the cardinals. Always wonder just how many family members are checking on me when I have bunches of them around the feeders. Glad your dad came to bring you some peace this morning.

  4. That is awesome! I have a cardinal pair that hangs out around my front porch every year. I saw and heard them for the first time this spring yesterday. I also saw a white butterfly outside my kitchen window, which I take as a sign that our stillborn son Travis is visiting!

  5. Count yourself lucky. Your Mother is in care. Here, I am the sole caregiver for my near 90 year old husband. Who is also nearly completely blind
    and feeble, of course.

Consider yourselves lucky, my Dear. That she is not at home with you.

  6. I have never had a cardinal on the covered part of my deck until this year and now I have a male who comes in to say hello nearly every day. I named him Dad too!

  7. Yes :) When we lived at our old house, every time I would walk outside to pray, a cardinal would join me. I was so happy when they started showing up at our new place. I always say "hello Jesus" when I see them :)

  9. I think sometimes the veil is thin, and they know just when we need a little extra TLC...sweet indeed.

  10. Dearest Billie Jo,
Never believed in that and IF so, then how do I handle that many pairs of Dads being seen at once from our bay window?!
    No, I believe in Angels!
Your Dad no doubt is close to you as his soul never died and you still can feel his presence and you can communicate with him.
Wishing you and your sister lots of strength. We have had close friends going down that road and it is rough and very hard on their loved ones.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  11. OH MY GOSH! Yes, I do believe that we get signs from loved ones, and so many other wonders in this world. And secondly, the red cardinal! A dream of mine to see one someday. What a beautiful picture and such heartwarming words today, Billie Jo. I loved it all. : )

  12. We have lots of Cardinals at our feeders and on the fence looking pretty so I guess my Mom, Dad, and brother are all looking down on me. I find myself wondering sometimes how they are getting on in heaven. Seriously, Billie Jo, I love your blog! It’s so refreshing! ❤️

  14. I remember seeing cardinals when my daughter and I were in Carthage, Missouri in December years ago. Always fun to see birds 🐦 that aren't in Oregon. It is a bit warmer today and hope it gets a bit warmer soon. Hope your mom is getting help in life. My mom's thru something that years ago. 🙏 for you all. 🌷

  15. My Granny loved red birds best of all, so much so that my son and daughters all have something cardinal related in their homes. I personally always feel I have had a visitation from Granny when I see a red bird. At the very least, I think of her and feel she's thinking of me...
