Good Monday morning! And Happy Easter! I hope your day was everything you dreamed it would be and then some. Easter was sunny and pleasant here in our part of the world, just as Easter should be. Gone are the days of leaving carrots out for the bunny and waking before dawn, and this Momma isn't complaining. I am blessed that my grown-up children enjoy everything Easter and sleeping in, so we have the best of both worlds! I set the table Saturday night for our Easter Brunch because that is one less thing Sunday morning. Our menu was similar to last year, adding in some meat and cheeses for little sandwiches.
Kyrstin, Rhett, Peyton, Christopher, Nicolas, Madison, and Flynn. So thankful for these amazing young people and the joy of being Mom.
And for this wonderful woman who taught me how to be a mother and who made every Easter so special with homemade peanut butter eggs with each of our names written in pastel icing nestled in Easter grass in the center of the dining room table, and who always prepared a delicious ham dinner, inviting both of my Grandmas to celebrate with us, and made it all look so easy. Flynn and I spent time with her on Easter Sunday, and while we were there, memories of Easters past filled my heart.
Easter isn't over, my friends. We can pack away the bunnies and the baskets. We can finish the chocolate eggs too. But we will have the joy of the Resurrection and the memories of our day forever.
Happy and Blessed Easter, my friends!!!
Billie Jo
Your day looks absolutely lovely!! The food, the setting, and your beautiful family! Love and miss you all! Your mother looks amazing too! Happy Easter to all!
ReplyDeletePS I love your dishes!! So cute!! : )
It was such a magical, memorable Easter (all because of you!!!) 💖
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you and family were together for lunch on Easter. Nice dishes. We met our daughter at Denny's restaurant after church for lunch. She got there early to get a table for us. Good church ⛪️ 🙏 service we had. It's a bit warmer now but still get rain. Even on a walk but not too wet. Happy week my friend. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted your Easter Day, I love this post! Your tablecloth and dishes are gorgeous!! I would buy them if I ever see them in a store. And what a beautiful family you have; you are so blessed! I see you used your long table as a buffet, then sitting down to eat at the big round table. That is perfect. Your brunch menu looks so good. I would not mind at all if you post the recipes for the coffee cake and quiche!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, happy Easter you had. Such joy in those faces. Your table is so cute and the menu is perfect. I'm so happy for you to have your children around you. We spent the morning at church for sunrise service, breakfast and then the normal church service. Afterwards Dennis and I just spent time at home and had leftover pizza for lunch. Over the years we've grown used to having holidays alone so it wasn't a problem. Our daughter's family was at her in-laws for lunch and an egg hunt so we had no big plans. Just being together was wonderful and discussing the wonderful services we've attended this week. The messages of Good Friday and Easter were very special this year. They really touched our hearts in a profound way.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
That looks so good! I love your Easter plates.
ReplyDeleteLove your Easter plates.
ReplyDeleteWe were alone this year, but it was fine!
Dearest Billie Jo,
ReplyDeleteThat was very special for being together as a family over a good meal and also with your Mom! Sure, memories of old do come alive at such moments.
We are just the two of us—no relatives here in the USA.
Foster daughter is in Indonesia and adopted daughter in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
But we had a wonderful Mass and I enjoyed singing in the chancel choir and especially the final which was the Hallelujah Chorus from Händel.
Pieter enjoyed it!
We had lunch at a dear friend's home.
Hugs,
Mariette
I love the way you celebrate the holidays and give your children so many wonderful memories, and hopefully they'll share those same traditions with their own children. The table setting is cute and the food looks delicious. Happy Easter! Wishing you a spring season filled with blessings!!!!

ReplyDeleteThose Easter plates are so cute. And the food looks wonderful. A sweet picture of you and Madison with the bunny ears. And I'm glad you got to visit your Mom on this very special day. Loved hearing the stories about your past Easters that she made so precious in her home. Homemade peanut butter eggs, oh my. A wonderful Easter celebration, Billie Jo. And you made it so nice in every way.

It's been ages since I've been by. I babysit my little granddaughter (now 18 months) 3 days a week, and that keeps me busy. I don't often get the opportunity to visit blogs these days...but I'm trying to work on that, because I DO miss my blogging friends. Your Easter table is lovely! Such cute plates! Billie Jo, your mom is beautiful! And what a blessing to still have her in your life. I still have my mom as well---she's almost 83. So many of my friends have lost one or even both parents, so I count myself abundantly blessed to still have both of mine.
