Monday Morning Coffee

Good morning, my friends. I am currently snuggled on the couch with my coffee this morning, a cozy fire in the fireplace taking the chill out of the room. I am drinking from one of my favorite Christmas mugs today. It is from Willams Sonoma, a gift I gave myself last year. It is the only Christmas around here so far, but Halloween is all tucked away, and for the time being, I am enjoying the bare, if dusty, look of our home. Christmas will be unpacked here soon, but for now, I am enjoying the anticipation and planning.

Today is quiet. Homeschool, dinner, laundry, and The Holiday Baking Championship/Steeler Game tonight. Dinner tonight is a new recipe, Crockpot Honey Garlic Ginger Chicken. I will let you know how it turns out! Have a good day, whatever you are up to. And if all the craziness and frustration in the world today start to get to you, turn the news off. Go back to a time when the world wasn't "woke." We have been watching old game shows like To Tell The Truth, What's My Line, and Match Game. They can be found on BUZZR, one of our favorite channels.

Have a great day, my friends. Thanks for visiting!

  1. That's a cute mug! I have just this afternoon taken down my Hallowe'en decorations. It's time to look forward and begin to make preparations for Christmas. Xx

  2. Oh I love your mugs! I didn't decorate much for Fall and it's been nice to be uncluttered. We don't watch tv much...turn it on to check the weather or the news and back off. We watch a football game and we watch our movies on DVD. Regular tv drives us crazy with all the commercials. lol Enjoy your day! Guess what I saw yesterday....a tie dye JEEP! It was so cool. I sent the photo to my son and told him I had painted my Jeep. He didn't fall for it! hahaha!

  3. Dinner sounds yummy. I have made something similar, I think, and it was a hit with everyone but my hubby. He's just picky. ;) We watch a lot of the old shows, too. Life sure was simpler then, wasn't it. At least it seems like it was. I still have my fall decorations out, but will probably pack them up in a week or so to clean before the Christmas things come out. Have a great week!

  4. Such a cute mug, Billie Jo. Dinner sure sounds yummy. I love using my crockpot and am always looking for new recipes, so I look forward to your review. I did some cleaning today. I'm doing the one room at time these days as that is all I have the energy to accomplish! Happy November!

  5. I'm not usually one to get into the Christmas spirit before I eat the turkey and I won't decorate before then, but this year I'm definitely looking forward to it. I might have even listened to some Christmas songs on the way to work this morning. I do believe with everything going on right now we could definitely use some holiday cheer.

  6. I just love the way you celebrate life. Inspirational my dear! I have minimal fall decorations out this year. Just didn't want the hassle of putting out and putting away this year since I was recovering from surgery. I actually liked it. Maybe less is more.
    Blessings,
    Laura

  9. Hello dear Friend
I just love catching up around your place. As I read I just feel calm and peaceful. Your home, to me, always fits the word "haven". I love our parallel lives of loving Fall. Enjoying the quiet and anticipation of this time of year. And yet enjoy our holiday moments. Love that mug! SO cute!
And if that recipe is a good one I'd love to know. It sounds DELICIOUS! Blessings on your week. xo

  11. Oh, what a delightful cup! Nel would love that, as she loves the Grinch movie. It's nice to just sit quietly with a cup of coffee in the the still of the morning, and your fire sound so cozy. I'm looking forward to seeing all your Christmas goodies, my friend.

    Have a blessed week.

  12. Go back to a time when the world wasn't "woke". That made me smile. :) Of course a certain level of wokrness is okay, but man, I'd still prefer the Brady Bunch days!
