Good morning! I am sipping my coffee as our beach vacation winds down, and we prepare to return to our cozy lake home just in time to prepare for the spooky month of October. I say every year that it is fun to go, but always nice to get home. The beach was good to us this year. It offered peace, calm, fun, rest, and memories of visits past. The beach is the place I am vividly reminded of my little ones that dug in the sand with Blue's Clues toys and jumped in the waves while clutching their Daddy's hand. Those same little ones were with us again, and although not so little anymore, they dug in the sand with those same precious beach toys with Flynn and also held her hand as they dove into the waves. As I sat in the sand watching the waves crash and roll out again as they have for years and years and years, I thought of the many trips we enjoyed with my parents along and how much I miss them being here with us. And how life continues to change while remaining very much the same.
Have a lovely day, my friends.
I will be back around to visit very soon!
I love this post, Billie Jo! Every photo speaks to the joy of family fun at the beach. I so agree it's fun to go, but so nice to return home! Have a safe journey home, my friend.
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family. Prayers for my dear friend who is burying her son (COVID) this week...prayers for those who continue to disregard science and won't vaccinate, mask, or isolate...as a born again Christian, I am dismayed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fabulous vacation! Always nice to return home though. Hope you have a wonderful and cozy week once you're settled back at home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful vacation you have captured in photos, and remembering the memories of times past and present!
ReplyDeletehave a safe return home.

What a fun time, I love the beach!
ReplyDeleteFamily time is the Best! One day your beach vacations will include grandbabies! Our granddaughter is 2 today, and life is so much sweeter with her in it. I so enjoy you blog, please continue to bless us with it.
ReplyDeleteI love the beach. I'm sure one day you'll have new memories of watching grandkids doing the same and it will be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos! It looks like you and your family are having a great time together at the beach and the pups, too. I remember many beach trips with my grandparents and it is sad to think how life has changed so much over the years, but still remaining the same. I went to visit my 88 year old grandma today who has early dementia - she still lives in her home but has a caretaker several days a week and my mom the other days. I felt sad after I left today and I still do this evening. It is hard to watch our parents and grandparents age, but life does go on. Sorry, didn't mean to get emotional here. Take care, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo. So glad you could spend time making even more memories with your family. Lovely pictures of your vacation! Enjoy October and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! So many memories. Glad you enjoyed. I hope to visit you there someday! Miss you!!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful pictures and beautiful memories.
ReplyDeleteBefore you know it there will be a whole new set of little ones digging in the sand and playing in the surf.
You have some wonderful family memories. Here's to creating many more! X
ReplyDeleteSpecial moments spent together as a family on the beach. I noticed the Charlie Brown blanket. That is too cute. I have a thing for the Charlie Brown movies. That's a precious picture of Flynn in her hat, and I'm so glad she got to dig in the sand and be a kid and have fun at the beach once again. : )
