Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday morning, my friends! I am snuggled in my spot on the couch with a knit throw blanket and my pups, sipping the goodness that is my morning coffee. I am still enjoying Dunkin Original, but today I am trying a new creamer flavor. Although I tend to keep things fairly basic in the creamer realm, I am enjoying a new flavor today. It is Oatmeal Cream Pie, and oddly enough, it is delicious! Creamy, but not fake-sweet. The sun is shining this morning, but the air is cold! No complaints here.

Our weekend was filled with fish fries and movies, online mass and naps, and one extra special, wonderful, blessed hour...

Yep! Steve and I were able to visit my beautiful, strong, amazing mother!!!! She was beyond happy to see us, and we were so thankful to see how wonderfully she is doing. She is the best person I will ever know, and sitting with her reminded me of how blessed I am to call her Mom. We took her a coffee from Dunkin, smiled, laughed, and talked until it was time to go.  If nothing else, this virus has reminded me that so much of what I thought I needed around me in life is simply background clutter, collections of unnecessary things, events, and thoughts that distracted me from what really matters. I am reminded that what I truly need, what is essential for my life, are the things I have had all along. Things like spending time with my mom, sharing stories, and sipping coffee.

I hope you have a cozy day, my friends. Today Flynn and I will homeschool and perhaps get out for a walk. Then we have pizza planned as we watch the finale of Matt the Bachelor choose between two women he has simultaneously dated in his journey to find love. Sounds promising, I know. Have a lovely day! Thanks for visiting.

  1. How wonderful you were able to visit your mother! You both look so happy in the photo. That coffee creamer sounds a bit strange to me, glad you like it. I like oatmeal cream pies but not sure about having the flavor in coffee. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. How wonderful that you were able to visit with your Mother. We lost Mom in May of last year and because of covid rules were not able to be at the hospital with her. I miss her.

  10. Oh Billie Jo - that's wonderful!!! I'm so glad you finally got to spend actual physical time with your sweet Mom. I really believe the time ahead will just get better and we'll all get more time with our loved ones. Because you're exactly right. Family and friends are everything (&our precious faith in our Lord) and nothing else ultimately matters. Have fun with the bachelor!! I took a break and didn't watch this round. But now that it's down to the exciting part I wish I had. 😉 Blessings on the week ahead. ❤️

  13. I am so happy you got to spend time with your mom. I am so grateful that my mom passed before this mess. She would never have been able to handle the lock down. I also beleive that this mess has caused many of us to focus on what is important. That is family and service to others.

  19. I saw that creamer and was intrigued. Now I must try it! Move over Silk Almond Creamer...at least for the sake of adventure.

  20. Oh, you got to see your Mom, how wonderful! I bet that was such a special visit for both of you. I see you have St. Faustina book. You know, I've heard about her, but not familiar with her. I have been watching Mass every week with Father Mike Schmitz, and I wanted to tell you that he is really good to listen to. I appreciate his words every week. How I love your coffee cup, Billie Jo. It's so nice you're thinking about the important things in life and not all the distractions.....taking walks, spending time with loved ones, and Yes, coffee!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Billie Jo. My kids are all Irish, but I have to pretend that I am on this special day. : )
