Rhett's girlfriend Kyrstin is the sweetest young lady ever. She came to us a while ago with the idea of throwing a surprise Prom for Rhett, since as a homeschooler, he never went to one. She planned it all and had help from all the kids to make it a super special surprise for Rhett. Madison helped with decorations, she and Nicolas hosted the event in their home, Peyton made delicious desserts, Chris helped get the party started, and Flynn was in charge of the music. Kyrstin made sure everything went off without a hitch, and Rhett was so happy and surprised! Steve and I happily acted as servers and chaperones and enjoyed watching all the fun the kids had together. We are so blessed that all of our children and their significant others get along so well. Our circle of people is widening, and it is good.
So to all you young moms, when you begin to feel melancholy about your babies growing up, please remember that while it is indeed hard, each stage that follows has amazing moments of its own. This was definitely one of those moments.
Have a happy Monday, my friends.
Thanks for visiting!
That is so sweet! I pray that my son will one day find a girl like that. I definitely feel sad when each stage passes but I enjoy each one that comes, too. Motherhood is such a bittersweet experience.
ReplyDeleteIt was so sweet of her to think to plan this for Rhett! It is nice to see everyone so happy and having fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to let go but each stage they go through brings its own blessing. What a wonderful event, such fun.
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes!! I hope and pray that my kids will bring wonderful friends and future spouses into our family. And I also pray that we can be warm and welcoming and open our home and hearts to them as well. Thank you for your positive example of this!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I love it. I have noticed that several families around here, even those who didn't home school, ave thrown "private proms" since normal school proms were not possible. This looks like it was so much fun. Your kids are great. What a nice family you have!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun, I know amazing memories were made!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious idea!
ReplyDeleteKyrstin is a very thoughtful young lady, and a Joy, to be an addition to your family circle. Being so thoughtful, of her boy friend Rhett.
And your entire circle of family and "Additions," are a Joy.
Look at how your 'Baby', is growing up. -smile- Just as beautiful, as her sisters, of course. What lovely role models she has, in them.
And again, Congratulations to you and your husband. You are doing this Married-With-Children-Thing right!!!!!!! -smile-
Hugs, all round!
Aw, what a sweet idea and it looks like they all had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like everyone enjoyed a wonderful time. What a fabulous celebration. X
ReplyDeleteI need to tell you, how truly delightful, your blog is!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn these terrible, turbulent times, we are living through, it is like a light in the window... Promising a quiet and lovely place, to visit. Where the simple and forever things, are held close. Where quiet reigns. Where "Home" is the best place to be. Where some-would-say "Old Fashioned Values," are still valued.
A Haven in the storm.
Thank you.
She is a treasure and it looked like and sounds like everyone had a wonderful 'prom' evening!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a fun time..

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh how sweet is she?? What a fun night for you and them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! That girl is a keeper! Your prayers are being answered beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! What a great idea to throw a surprise prom party. Everyone looks so dazzling in their special outfits. And I love the table with the red roses. The food looks so Yummy, those cupcakes! This post hit home for me, as my Nel lived in Hollywood for six years. It was such an experience for her, and she actually used to walk down the lane with her husband when the Oscars were going on, and she got to see a glimpse of the people and the lovely dresses. Rhett's girlfriend's blue dress is stunning. Everyone looks so happy in that last picture, love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July, Billie Jo.
