Random Photos On Monday Morning

Good Monday morning to you! I hope your weekend was everything you wanted it to be. We had a quiet and uneventful one here, except for a few hours Sunday evening when the high winds caused a power outage in our area. And just as Danielle and I were going to watch the Oscars together too. Instead, Steve, Peyton, Flynn, Rhett and I spent the evening Little House on the Prarie style, huddled in the living room surrounded by (battery operated) candles. Our power returned, but not in time to watch Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga sing possibly the most beautiful song ever recorded live. If you haven't seen it yet, you can find it over on YouTube.

This week is a quiet one here. Madison and Nicolas are off enjoying their honeymoon, and Nicolas' brother Jakob, who is staying with us for a while is spending a few days in Canada with his friend, Mads, who is also staying with us. We are so happy to have these two amazingly nice young men here with us. It is so nice for Nicolas of course, but also for all of us as we enjoy spending time with them. They are so well mannered and polite, but also lots of fun. Rhett is enjoying having "brothers" for a while, and Peyton is enjoying having more people to cook and bake for! Flynn has more people to play ping pong and watch soccer with and has even found someone new to help practice her spelling words.

This week will be quiet, but we will fill it with work, school, laundry, cooking, napping, reading, and watching our favorite shows. Have a great week yourselves, and be sure to take time for some afternoon coffee. I am still finding photos on my phone. Here are some of my favorites...

Favorite way to start the day.

 Favorite pup.

Favorite mail. Unexpected, unnecessary, but greatly appreciated and enjoyed mail from a sweet and dear friend.

Favorite group of awesome young people.
Rhett, Mads, Jakob, Peyton, and Flynn enjoying a night out bowling.

Favorite Newlywed couple.
All ready to go on their fabulous honeymoon adventure.
I adore these two.
So adorable, so classy, so young, and so in love.

Happy Monday, my friends!

  4. A quiet week is always good. :) We had extremely high winds yesterday, too, and we had a power outage, but it was only for a few seconds. I actually don't mind it when we have to live Little House on the Prarie style. We did it for a week a few years ago.

Loved your pictures...those newlyweds are so precious! And how wonderful that you are able to host Mads and Jakob also.

Have a wonderful week, my friend.

  5. What a perfectly spent weekend. (Except for losing power and missing what you wanted to see, that's always a bummer.)

  8. Hate power outages and was afraid we'd have one too as we had a blizzard on Saturday! No outage but loads of snow!

I forget how much fun bowling can be -- we need to do that again. Those newlyweds are so adorable!!

  9. Happy MOnday to you dear Friend. So sorry about the power outage - bummer! But thank goodness for youtube. Lol! That Lady Gaga and Bradley moment was truly magical. ;) Love the pics too. So happy for that adorable newlywed couple. Did they ever share how they found each other? I'm not sure I remember that story? How did she find someone from so far away ...but so perfect. Like a fairytale. ::sigh:: I could use some of those these days.

Blessings on the week ahead Hon. xoxo

  10. Sorry your power went out right before the show. I didn't see much of it so I'll have to look that up in a bit. Loved Lady Gaga's dress though. Are you enjoying your book? I read that one. Hope you have a warm and cozy week ahead (and you don't lose your power again).

  11. I so love it when we get a week or two with nothing going on and everything slows down and you get a chance to breathe and relax a little. Enjoy your week!

I like that when your plans went awry, instead of complaining you found something even more special to do.
Mads and Jakob are so handsome.
