So, what about the super simple DIY project from someone who has absolutely no crafting ability at all?
I saw a picture on Pinterest...where else?...of a dresser with a television on it. I knew I wanted to recreate something similar, but didn't really feel like ordering something and then waiting for it to come and then not being sure that I liked it.
I wandered into our local craft store and after walking around aimlessly, I decided to wave the white flag and ask for help. The kind woman guided me around until I had the things I needed to recreate the vision in my head...Namely, two white pitchers, two twig branches, and some type of bundled up sprays with little flowers on them. I didn't leave without specific instructions on how best to unwrap the branches and strategically place them in the pitchers while wrapping the thin ones around the thick twigs. ( As opposed to my thought of stuffing them in and calling it a day.)
Ask me to find any book in Barnes and Noble and I am all over that. Walking through a craft store? That is a different story. But, I have to admit, I really like how they turned out. And Steve really liked how much I paid for them!
Thanks so much for visiting, my friends.
Have a cozy day!
The minimalist look is beautiful- simple and clean and elegant. I love it!!! And I'm the same in craft stores- I need instruction books for anything I do! :)
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is beautiful. I like the simple approach in my bedroom too. It seems one of the dustiest rooms in the house, and going minimalist, sure makes it easier to clean. I love the arrangements you did with the tv!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo, I love your bedroom! I think that all you need now is one of those barnwood pieces with a saying on it to hang over the bed. Or maybe drapes with a chevron pattern with maybe a bit of color in it.The flowers and vases were perfect. I've noticed that you're taking a different approach to decorating in this house.I really like it! Just curious---did you sale your furniture from the last house with the house? I thought maybe whoever bought the house wanted it because it was so pretty too. I also have one more question---is there anything you could attribute the absence of any dental cavities to which you mentioned in your last post.I'm always trying to learn, and that is simply amazing. Praying that Madison is safely in Denmark. Have a great day. Hugs, Maureen
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Yes, I am looking for something to hang behind the bed, but haven’t found it yet! As for the lack of cavities, in addition to luck, I think perhaps it may be due to the fact we mainly drink water and milk in our house. Dinner is only milk or water. We have soda and juice on special occasions, but even then, my son is the only one who really drinks them! think maybe because they drank mainly milk and water as young children, they don’t really like the sugary taste? We do eat our share of desserts, as you may see, but as far as candy, we rarely have that. Chocolate? Yes. All those chewy, sugary candies? No. I never buy them. I started them on fresh fruit as kids, and that is what they like. That was a really long answer, wasn’t it?! : )
DeleteBeautiful! Looks so relaxing and soothing. I loved seeing your angels as well. Made me think of my late mother-in-law who always gave me angels as gifts and I still display some of them. Hope you have an amazing week!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And I'm becoming the same way. Less really is more.
ReplyDeleteI love this room!! It's perfect!!
ReplyDeleteYour room is beautiful! I love the arrangement with the TV and your craft store finds!
ReplyDeleteI like it. Minimalism is great. I am hoping to incorporate this some day.
ReplyDeleteMinimalist. That's me since we moved to TX (because without a basement and not wanting to spend a small fortune on a storage unit somewhere it's a must). I love your space! Plus, you may still hang things up here or there once you have lived in it for awhile. What is the view from your bedroom window?
ReplyDeleteI love your cozy bedroom. It is just lovely. Have a blessed week. Hugs. ~Juli
ReplyDeleteSo simple and pretty. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of the day!
ReplyDeleteThere is beauty in simplicity.
ReplyDeleteI love it...Hubby wants to put a tv in our room, sigh, noway, smiles.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and calming....smart move!
ReplyDeleteI am right there with ya friend. I am all for simplifying things these days. We did so with our bedroom and love it. Who needs a lot of clutter and chaos when you are trying to sleep?
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo!
ReplyDeleteNothing prettier than, white on white! The pitchers look so pretty with the stems in them, very simple and gorgeous!
Hugs and Love,
Barb
Beautiful, the pitchers and stems are a delight. Simple but very effective.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is cozy and relaxing and ready for dreaming. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteWell, I love that room... simple/clean/white beauty! You did a great job on your DIY project! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThat minimalist is great but I can't get there, I love the way it looks at others homes but I have too much stuff that I am attached to...yep, I know, you should not become attached to stuff, and I have! I hate getting rid of stuff! On my walls, well lets just say, I don't do a blank wall! haha...Looks great and I really love the white pitchers. Great job.
ReplyDeleteEverything is beautiful, Billie Jo. Or should I say "Martha Stewart"?
ReplyDeleteYou go girl. Your bedroom looks so comfortable. I love your furniture. So pretty.
Looks beautiful!!! I love the white pitchers with the stems! You did a great job! I'm also trying to embrace having less "stuff" around me these days. Moving kind of forced me into it, and I'm glad for it. I feel like I can breathe easier : ) Your room is lovely and cozy! Also love your hope chest! It's beautiful! ♥
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks so relaxing. I love that little tray with your jewelry on it. :)
ReplyDeleteVery calm...relaxing...like Debbie above, I like the little tray.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful :-)
ReplyDeleteYour help me is just amazing! I am so happy for you. I have found the older I get the less stuff I want around as well.
ReplyDeleteNot only classic, but so very classy too! Love clean lines too. I'm a combo of some minimalist and yet needing my seasonal things and family photos everywhere. Lol Just beautiful my friend. And I love my way around both of those kinds of stores!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it! So simple and classic!
