A Day In The Life

Do you ever wish you could go back and peek into one of the days in your past? I do...and in an effort to make that possible...I snapped some photos a few days ago to document an ordinary day in our blessedly ordinary life.
The first thing I do after I take the puppy out, is plug in all the lights,

and light the candles. I like the house to look and smell cozy when everyone else wakes up. : )

I also like to tidy little Mocha's house for the day.

I always throw a load or two of laundry in first thing in the morning, too.

This day was the perfect blustery, fall day, so I put a roast in the crockpot to simmer all day long.

After everyone wakes up and gets breakfast, Rhett watches Mocha while I head upstairs for a quick shower and my meditation time.

School time!

This day was Arts and Craft Day and my girl was hard at work...

...it was also Pajama Day. Because when you homeschool...you can do that. A lot.

We were thrilled with the result!

Even Mocha. : )

Then it was lunchtime!

This day was clean out the refrigerator day!

Just because. : )

After lunch it had warmed up enough to walk down and get the mail...

...for some of us.

Afternoons are snuggle time...

...and some of us even fall asleep. : )

Daddy's home! And dinner was delicious!

Then it was clean up time.

And in the interest of fairness, I must mention it is not always pretty around here. While Peyton supervised Flynn's bath time, Madison and I got to work on laundry. : )

And when all is done, and the little one is dreaming, I pour myself a cup and  snuggle on the sofa with my people. And watch reality tv, of course.

And that is an ordinary day.
And I am blessed to live it.
Every day of my life.

  1. I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes from Mary Jan Irion: "Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are." I know from experience, it only take one second for everything to change.

    Sweet post and pics.

  4. I love this "Day in the life" post! Your ordinary day is almost exactly like ours! Except I don't light candles....I should though....love that idea. Candles is something I decluttered to get the home ready to sell...

I always make the kids get dressed for school....maybe I should lighten up on that!

Thanks for sharing your day with us!

  13. Love these kinds of days, except for the homeschool of course our days have a lot in common I love that you also turn on all your holiday lights and light candles first thing also : ) I figure the only holidays I have a lot of lights are fall and Christmas so we better enjoy them while we can because the days go so fast. P.S. Mocha is so cute. and I LOVE your fall background. have a blessed Sunday.
