Good Monday morning! I am enjoying my first cup of coffee on the deck this morning, listening to the birds have quite a conversation. Yesterday was so warm, yet today I am actually using a throw blanket out here because it is chilly! I have already taken my morning walk with Mocha, finished my obligatory glass of water, and said my morning prayers. Later I will get cleaned up, have something to eat, and work on homeschool with Flynn.
Speaking of Flynn, she worked on Saturday, and her pup Marty sat and watched for her all afternoon. Flynn is enjoying her new job at the smoothie place, and on Saturday she got a taste of Saturdays in a beach town! She said they were so busy! After work, we picked her up and headed to church. After a lovely Mass, we headed to the beach, where I sat and read my book while watching the waves. That is something I never tire of.
Even though we are entering the summer season, when our town comes alive with people enjoying the beauty of the ocean, the beach is rarely crowded in the evening. For us, it is the perfect time to sit in the sand and watch the waves. Steve went to Jersey Mike's and brought back subs, and we ate dinner right on the beach. Fun and easy cleanup!
Yesterday was quiet around here. I did some meal prep for the week, finished the laundry, and worked in my planner. Flynn requested Ramen for dinner soon, so yesterday I got all the ingredients, and last night she and I made dinner. Actually, Flynn made the dinner. I simply chopped all the vegetables. It was delicious! It is actually a Weight Watchers recipe. So fresh, so good, and so easy. I will share the recipe below.
This morning I was up with the sun, brushed my teeth, laced my sneakers, and headed out with Mocha. It was cloudy and windy, but we did see some sights along the way.
And lastly, I was so happy and excited to receive a real piece of mail from my sweet blog friend, Debbie! Debbie's beautiful blog is right here at Millie's Cozy Cottage Life, and I am so happy to have met her here. Her posts are always fun, inspirational, and yes, cozy.
Have a wonderful Monday, my friends! Thanks for visiting.
Billie Jo

Love the new blog header, Billie Jo! It sounded like you had a wonderful weekend. I truly enjoy the pictures you shared from the beach and your morning walk. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteYep... I do remember summer days like that!! Billie Jo, I loved your photos today and am glad you had such a sweet weekend!! Be blessed in the week ahead, my friend!! xo
ReplyDeleteI do remember all of this! Back when kids were let out to play all day without any worries. How awfully that has changed. Wow, a Great White Heron! Wait, you didn't post the recipe, and I love ramen!!
ReplyDeleteIt is under my name, Ginny! : )
DeleteHappy Monday, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteBillie Jo, you just described my summers to a "T". My life was exactly like that. Children today don't know what they're missing out on.
ReplyDeletePoor Marty. He misses Flynn. He's used to her always being there with him. What a cutie he is. I'm so glad she's enjoying her job. My first job was an aide in a nursing home and I loved it. I loved the people so much and it was hard to lose them which was fairly inevitable there.
I would love to sit and read with you on the beach. We did a lot of that in Galveston last winter and hope to do the same next year.
I hope your week is a beautiful one, full of God's blessings on you and your lovely family.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Yes, you described my summers perfectly. I think time is the biggest things I miss. Remember when summers seemed to last forever and the year between Christmas's was SO long? I miss that. Now time flies so quickly.
ReplyDeleteCute mug. The birds have been very noisy here lately. How nice that you went to church and then sat at the beach and read a book. Jersey Mike has great sandwiches. Yum on the Ramen dinner. Enjoyed your beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteEvenings on the beach are always my favorite! Whenever we visit beach towns I try to get accommodations right on or just a block away from the water since my favorite moments are walking on the beach just after sunrise and right around sunset.
ReplyDeleteI live year round in a tourist town too but in Maine. The vibe is very busy in summer as well. What a good skill for Flynn to learn. And I agree wholeheartedly that life is better at the beach!
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a beautiful place, making your walks a real delight. And close to the beach! Oh yes!
