Good Monday morning! I am home, of course; however, I can still have my morning coffee with Mickey, right? Well, today feels like May. Every month has a feeling, I think. May's feeling is a mix of newness, warmth, endings and beginnings, busyness, and anticipation. The school year is wrapping up, summer plans are being made, and everything is finally green again. We also have several May birthdays. Yet while May is historically quite busy for us, from now on it will be calm and ordinary. Just the way I like it.
I went for a walk this morning, and was amazed at how everything came alive while we were gone. It's like Tinkerbelle took her wand and made it happen. I will stop with the Disney references, I promise. Just not quite yet.
Here is what Mocha and I saw early this morning.
And we are back to cooking, although I am working on clearing out the freezer, so it was chicken tenders and frozen vegetables last night. An effort was made, and it was good.
Lately, lunch has been this salad I throw together. It is good! Just lettuce, spinach, avocado, cherry tomatoes, egg, and some turkey breast. Keeps me full all afternoon, too.
Well, I have some things to do before the rest of the house wakes up. Today, we will homeschool, I will finish laundry, and Steve has a few things outside to work on. I have some turkey breast to use up. Thinking I may put it in the crockpot with some broth and have hot turkey sandwiches tonight. Stay tuned! And remember...

I love May! It's my favorite month. I've been sitting here, looking at blogs and admiring the view out the front window. Like you, I'm astounded at how, all of a sudden, everything is green.

Hi Billie Jo....I know you all had the very best time on your trip.. I want to know all about it. Trips like this with family can be such a blessing and oh how so many memories can be made. I know you are glad to be home though. Your cup is adorable. I just had a salad very similar to yours and it was very tasty. Our area is green as well. it won't be long though that we will be needing rain to keep the grass from turning brown.. Enjoy this beautiful MOnday.

That little bluebird is sweet....I've always loved them. Your salad looks really good, and avocados are the best in salads. The Tomorrowland display, where the stage is fixed in place and the audience spins around it, so old time-y and sentimental...Anyway. You're right, spring sprang while we weren't looking, then skipped right to summer! It was 91 here in central NY state today, got the kiddie pools and popsicles out for the grandkids!

That photo of the blue bird is stunning the way the blue 'pops' amid the browns and greens. And that salad, I admit I stared at it for a few, looking at the ingredients (what kind of cheese is that?) and thinking to myself, 'I could make that!' :) It looks really good!

DeleteBillie Jo, your salad is so impressive! My salad comes from Schlotzsky's once a week. If I buy all of that at the grocery store, it will go bad before I'm in the mood. So I quit buying all of the salad fixings and spend $10 once a week on a chicken/strawberry salad that has pecans, strawberries, feta, chicken lettuce with some yummy dressing. Sometimes I eat half one day and the other half the next day :) This is my salad story and I'm sticking to it :) hahaha

One of my favorite quotes is from Frozen, "Its funny how some distance makes everything seem small, and the fears that once controlled me, can't get to me at all." I LOVE that quote. Disney does some good things!
