Hello! Well, here we are on the first Friday of MAY! While this month used to be filled with all kinds of activities when the kids were young, it is now much slower, with a bit of preparation for the long summer months. The porch furniture will be hosed down, the flower pots filled, and the deck swept off. Summer days are coming!
The past few days have been blissfully normal. Between unpacking, doing laundry, and going through mail, I managed to sneak in an afternoon nap or two. What else went on these past few days? Well, I got a summer haircut...
and sent the obligatory selfie to Madison. Early morning walks resumed...
And the pups enjoyed some quiet time at home.
And we ate some delicious, cozy food like grilled cheese and tomato soup and homemade apple pie, sent back with us from Steve's sister, Deb. The first night we were home, Madison brought us a delicious dinner. She made chicken legs, homemade macaroni and cheese, and a salad with strawberries, walnuts, and cherry tomatoes. It was so good, and we were so thankful!
That is about all I have today, my friends. This weekend looks to be rainy and cozy here. We have mass on Saturday and will be preparing for a family vacation to Disney on Monday. Yep, we are all going to Disney together! I am so thankful and also excited because, even though I no longer have little children holding my hand or riding in a stroller, I know the magic of Disney makes us all young at heart.
Have a lovely weekend, my friends!

Cute summer cut! Oh Disney will be marvelous-I’m completely jealous. What a great, memory-making time for all of you. So sweet to have a home-cooked dinner “delivered” and a normal week is just fine by me. Yes please-I don’t want/need anything to “ruffle my feathers” as they say. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear you are getting all settled in and had so much help from family to make it easier. Your meals look delicious. Enjoy the weekend and have a wonderful family trip to Disney.
ReplyDeleteHappy month of May, I like the thought of keeping it simple and not overcomplicating a single thing. Coffee outside on the porch sounds sweet, too. Have fun on your Disney family adventure :)
ReplyDeleteOh friend! Normalcy and Disney? That's the dream! Have so much fun!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteHooray for morning walks....and cute haircuts!! Looks great. I decided to "trim" my own. That was the dumbest idea. It looks awful. Will probably be Christmas before I can get any type of actual cut or shape. Ugh. Hope your weekend is blissfully normal as well!
ReplyDeleteYou look cute with the haircut. Oh, I love Disney. Disney truly is a magical place where you suddenly turn into a kid, no matter the age you really are. Have a safe and fun trip.
ReplyDeleteYour haircut is so cute! The food looks wonderful as always. A family trip to Disney - hooray!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great and the food looks comforting and good!
ReplyDeleteI am getting some hair cut off on Monday. I have had long hair my whole life and have been shortening it bit by bit over the last couple of years. It will be shoulder length after this next cut.
Enjoy Disney World. I was about 10th in line the day they opened to the public. When you go inside the main gate there is a little 'history' area off to the right. The last time about 5 years ago there were still pictures of me/others being the first ones in.
My grandgirl went to Disney College and loved it-met her soon-to-be-fiancee there. They have been dating for 4 years. She said about 30% of people that go to Disney College end up meeting their life partner there because they have the same sort of 'spirit' and love Disney.
Have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the trip to Disney!
ReplyDeleteLove the haircut! Looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteA family trip to Disney?! That will be so much fun. You're right about it making you feel like a kid. Our family went to Dland and California Adventure two years ago and there's no responsibilities there. And planning for it is half the fun! Happy May Billie Jo!
