Good morning, my friends! This is a long one, so pour a cup of whatever makes you happy and get comfy! And be sure to click on "See Full Post." August is flying by. That means September and all the cozy goodness it brings are almost here! It is no secret that I love this time of year. I always have. I wait all year for these cloudy, cool days, the colorful falling leaves, and the first batch of pumpkin bread in the oven. I embrace the slow, cozy days and nights and try to savor every single moment. Last week, I created a simple, fun list of ways to enjoy the beautiful month of September. 🍁 Happy September, friends. 🍂
I understand totally as the heat in Florida is oppressive. Four years here so far. I have spent several weeks in Indy with daughter and a trip to WV to see her dad and friends. I will be moving back to Indiana in September and the four seasons. Health and age needs must. Bittersweet move...my 30 plus...but leaving family here to go to family there...it is not easy...enjoy your September...I will be one year older...thankful for each day...thank you for your wonderful blog. I don't reply often...I do read...take care and prayers for you and your lovely family. You are an inspiration. Brenda
ReplyDeleteI love summer and am just hanging on to it for as long as possible! But, I like these ideas and will use some of them but later in Sept!
ReplyDeletePS - I started reading What she left behind. So good!
What a beautiful post, Billie Jo, and I love all the suggestions for each week in September. This is a very thought-filled list....complete with some recipes. Thank you for that. Much love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteYay! Its cool and breezy here this morning. I'm feeling fall in the air and I just lit my first fall candle of the season. This post is exactly what I needed today. I'm definitely doing this with you my friend! Happy new week! Fall is coming! : )
ReplyDeleteI love this. Since I moved in with my daughter, life has been chaotic. I think I'd like to take a day and deep clean. I have the Aug 29th off, and I think I'll do just that.
ReplyDeleteI love how you prepare for the season and month to come. They are all great years. I'm tempted to try your pumpkin bread and when I do I'll be sure to let you know. I'm always looking for new recipes.
ReplyDeleteI meant IDEAS not years. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog , but do not share your love of fall! In the PNW, summer days are few, and fall signals winter. I wait for spring and summer like you wait for fall!
ReplyDeleteSuch great lists! I'll save this for when it gets closer to fall. It is so hot that my brain just can't believe we will ever get to cool fall days! Haha!
ReplyDeleteWhat great lists - thanks for sharing! You might just be getting my autumn mood started:) I cling to summer but the power of a good list!! So glad you are excited and your happy season is almost here!!
ReplyDeleteSome good ideas here to make September really feel like fall. It's one of those rare years where September 1 is Labor Day so it really will feel like Fall!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be farther north than I am... Fall doesn't kick into gear around the Ozarks until October at least. Still very warm here in September. I love your list! Inspired me to make my own (for October).
ReplyDeleteFUn lists, but as it can stay in the 90's here until about the third week of October, it is hard to take Fall seriously
ReplyDeleteGreat list but Like out my window just said, I will need to move it to the end of October before fall is truly here. We can possibly have cool days but the next day it is more likely to be 90+. We cannot carve a pumpkin more than 2 days before Halloween and expect it to still be holding its shape.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your calendar for September! I am going to try to follow at least some of them for sure! And thanks for all the suggestions for recipes, etc. A great way to welcome September in!
ReplyDeleteYou have fall totally covered! This is our fall bible!
ReplyDeleteOh, love this!!! I have actually been thinking of doing something similar after I get back from vacation. Thank you for the inspiration. It is so good to catch up with your blog and life!!! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteLove your list for each month and think I'll copy some of your suggestions. I, too, can hardly wait for fall, everything about it. Blessings . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun list! Feels like fall in CT... temps in the upper 60s. And I couldn't wait until September... all decorated here for autumn. I love a cozy home! Enjoy doing all the things on your list... you'll have so much joy! Have a great night Billie Jo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun list! We likely won't get Fall weather until October but I am already dreaming of it. I already set out some Fall touches inside the house. (:
ReplyDeleteI'm still enjoying summer and have no wish to hurry it along. :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am a summer girl once fall gets in full swing I'm all aboard! Love the list!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun shares here!! Thanks for that. I'm ready for cooler temps, but it will be late October for us. Going back for a few of your links! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo. I am playing blog catch-up tonight. I downloaded that book you just read to my Kindle, and it is next up! I think that you and I have similar tastes in books! I love all the fun ways you plan to savor the beautiful month of September. Have a great week, my friend! See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list of ideas, Billie Jo! Thank you! I am looking forward to the cooler temps and all the cozy feelings.
ReplyDeleteI am hanging on to summer for dear life. Going camping and being bare foot the whole time, swimming and not being cold, my garden...my flowers...I love love love summer. Fall is lovely, but the long shadows mean dark forebodings of cold wind and slippery roads...winter is beautiful, but also so harsh and rather scary sometimes here in NY. But shh, pumpkin bread, mmm. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely list and gets me so excited for all to come in the best season of all!! II can't believe September is almost here. Summer felt extra fast to me this year. I am soaking up some wonderful summer moments yet...but I actually get giddy when I see the Fall signs showing up around me. It's almost HERE - YAY!!! 🧡🧡🧡
ReplyDeleteWow.. you are really planned for September. Might steal a few ideas from you.
ReplyDeleteCooler, spicier days ahead. Yay! Love the feel of autumn! Great post.
ReplyDeleteI love this list! And I will definitely be using some of your ideas, once I know for certain that summer has waved goodbye.Thank you, Billlie Jo.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am looking forward to autumn this year - possibly because it feels like we've actually enjoyed some wonderful summer days.
