Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday morning! I hope your weekend was everything you hoped it would be. We had a nice one here, beautifully ordinary and quiet. There was mass, takeout fish tacos, basketball, movies, and some swimming, too. Forgive my current obsession with sunrise photos. It's just that each one is prettier than the one that came before; I can't help myself.

Friday...

Saturday.

See what I mean? Heather and Dave packed up and headed for home, but before they did, we had fun shopping in the sweetest little town nearby. Shoutout to my Madison for somehow capturing a photo of Steve and me where I don't look unnaturally excited and awkward.

And she also managed to get a good one of me and Heather too!

Although I actually like this one better. In our quest for perfection, we tend to look for those perfectly posed photos to save and delete the ones that, while not picture-perfect, actually capture real-life moments. Someday, when I look back at this photo, I will see the total joy this friendship brings. So, a reminder to myself: Document life as it is sometimes. Not how you think it should look.

And now I'm off to start my day. We will tidy up here, head home to the house, and settle in for dinner and the finale of Grant's Bachelor Season! Will he find the love of his life after six weeks of mindless chatting and random makeout sessions? How will he ever choose between the TWO women he is in LOVE with in time to propose to one? I don't know about you, but I am excited to find out tonight! ( Clearly, I watch this show with a significant amount of cynicism and snark, but it is entertaining, and every so often, it works, so there's that. )

I'm leaving you with this because someone knows exactly how I feel and was able to put it into words far better than I could.

Have a cozy Monday, my friends.

Billie Jo

  1. I'm happy to hear you had a lovely weekend. I love the photo's.
I think photo's caught in the moment are always better than the "well posed" ones.
    Have a great Monday!!

  2. Oh how I like the quote. This is exactly how I feel as well...Enjoyed hearing about your lovely weekend and seeing the gorgeous pictures of God's work. Keep us updated on who the Bachelor chooses...I don't watch it but it would be interesting to know if it's the one you have selected for him or not...Happy Monday

  3. I love those sunrise photos, and I know what you mean...when we camp on Lake Ontario, I can't get enough of the sunsets, I have so many pics, but it's just so beautiful! Friendship is a beautiful thing too, very nice pictures that capture it! Sounds like you had a really nice weekend. :)

  4. Good morning my Friend! ☀️ Wow you are right - that sunrise is an absolute stunner! I'm so glad you had such a wonderful weekend with your Friend. I couldn't agree more that those candid captured moments say it all so beautifully. I didn't catch the Bachelor this season, but it is always a guilty pleasure to watch! I giggle at your comments all the time. Love it!
I hope you have an amazing week ahead. xo

  5. A sunrise or sunset over a lake is just the best!
I loved the pics of you and Heather. It's so good to be together and I can see your joy!
    That last meme is perfect!

  6. Beautiful beach photos, looks like a relaxing place to spend time at. Not a fan of Grant's Bachelor season, I read that they caught some antibiotic-resistant STD's which says a lot about their questionable morals.

  7. I love the snark. I laughed out loud. But you know I enjoy it too! Lovely sunrises. Enjoy every second of them.

  8. The photos of you and Steve and you & Heather are wonderful! Especially the last one of you & Heather, it is an unposed beauty! I totally agree that candid photos are so much better than posed ones. They show our emotions in real life. Every sunrise is so different, so I can never get enough. Bring them on!!!

  10. Hi Billie Jo. I love those beautiful sunrise photos. I am a sunrise and sunset person . Can't get enough. Looks like you had a nice weekend. Great picture of you and Steve and of you and your friend. I agree with your final quote 100%. I don't like drama and shy away from it more and more the older I get. Although you didn't mention it in your post, I know you are grateful for the good news that the Pope is out of the hospital. May he stay well and serve God and the church for many more years to come! I hope you have a great week!

  15. Completely agree with *everything* you posted. Especially capturing moments rather than perfection in your photos. The bonus was that it was a really good basketball weekend! Especially for those named Frankie...

  18. Your sunrise photos are beautiful and so peaceful. And I'm glad there are pictures of you! I am the worst at wanting my picture shown, as many women are. But those who love us don't see us the way we see ourselves, and they will wish we allowed more pictures to be taken, one day. I'm trying to get better about being ok with that. I will watch Grant's final show today. It's a toss up!

  20. Such delightful photos my friend :) I am happy you included all your sunrises, absolutely gorgeous. I also enjoy your shell mug and its background, beautifully composed. Outstanding photos starting with the one of you and Steve and then with Heather. I enjoy candid photos. I have never watched the bachelor shows but they sound very entertaining. That’s a great quote and agree wholeheartedly. Have a wonderful rest of the week :)
