Monday Morning Coffee Talk

Good Monday morning! This was me for a substantial amount of time last week at the beach. Cozy clothes, makeup-free, with my coffee and pup nearby. For many years, I enjoyed the fun and excitement of being in the middle of the action at the beach. Now I am happiest as a bystander and only occasionally joining the excursions, choosing instead to stay back and watch the dogs. Yet another reason this introverted homebody is thankful she married an extroverted fun seeker.

On this trip, I had a friend to drink coffee with and watch crime shows with! Danielle has a beautiful blog right HERE, and she and I have been friends for years. We met through our blogs, and now we are friends in real life too! She and her family spent the week with us, and it was filled with laughter, coffee, movies, beach time, and fun.

It was a wonderful week for us all. We were all able to enjoy the time together, except these two, and we missed them dearly, but they were on their own adventure in Washington, D.C., celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary! So happy for my Peyton Rose and her Christopher!

We stayed in touch with phone calls and photos, of course. I am home, safe, sound, and ready for a new week. Today I will organize some things, do the laundry, and make my meal plan with a shopping list. The leaves are appearing on the trees, and the days are getting longer. Spring is trying to arrive here in Pennsylvania, but winter isn't going quietly. We had snow flurries this morning, and I have the fire going beside me. And I am not complaining about that. Have a wonderful day, my friends. I will be around to visit and get caught up!

Thanks for visiting!
Billie Jo

  1. Spring had me fooled here too. It looked so sunny and nice so out I went in just a light sweater and sandals. Oops! It was in the mid-40s and much chillier than I expected. But at least everything is green. Glad you had a fun time at the beach! Have a super week!

  2. Glad you had a relaxing week at the beach. It's been gorgeous here. Everything is in full bloom then a cold front showed up again this weekend. Perfectly fine by me as it will be hot soon enough I'm sure.

It looks like one more week of cooler temps here - then hopefully more Spring-like weather will start showing up. I'm so ready for it! But yes, in the meantime...enjoying the cozy works too. And Happy Anniversary to Peyton and Christopher! Have a blessed week ahead. xo

  17. So glad you got to spend some time with your friend. That's always nice. I also just saw my best friends from high school - we go way back! I love your doggie's yellow rose. Happy Anniversary to dear Peyton and Christopher. She has such a sweet smile. I hope they had a wonderful time in their travels. Like you, no more sun and fun days for me either. I prefer those special days at home.

Have a beautiful week, Billie Jo.

  18. I do miss the ocean! For many years, I lived in Florida (where my husband is from), but we now live in a land-locked state. It's only when we visit family that we get to enjoy the beach nowadays. How fun to meet up with blog friends! Through the years, I have been able to meet a few. For some reason, I have to continually "follow" your blog. I follow, then a few days later, I discover your updates aren't coming through on my Blogger dashboard, and I find that I'm no longer following. Not sure why that keeps happening.

  19. That all sounds idyllic Billy Jo, and as I am the introvert married to a border-line extrovert, I can relate. He has taken me on a lot of adventures during our married life. I also like crime shows :) Sounds like you had a lovely time getting together with your friend. I enjoyed your photos and seeing your family who came to DC. Wondering if that was at the Smithsonian Zoo they were at? I haven’t been there in a long time and we only live 25 miles away. Overdue! Enjoy your catching up time. It is fun getting away but there’s nothing like coming home to your own bed.

  21. Dearest Billie Jo,
It sounds like you had a great time together!
Danielle mentioned where you were—Ocean City in Maryland.
Hoping that the weather was pleasant enough but no doubt your visiting time was!
    Hugs,
