Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy this.
But I really, really, love this.
And so it goes, my friends. It is September Eve. I start getting the itch for this time of year in mid-July. Just a few thoughts of cozy afternoons, earlier evenings, soups, hoodies, and pumpkin spice. I wait patiently through those beautiful summer days and long summer evenings. I enjoy the fresh fruits and morning lake swims. I really do. I love mornings on the deck as the world awakes to the sound of birds. And yet, my heart will always yearn for fall. September. A new school year. Cooler days. Colored leaves. Cozier clothes and pumpkin spice. It is here, my friends. The promise of all that and so much more is here. Join me for a cup of cozy this morning.
Happy September Eve! Cheers!
Billie Jo
I actually wrote in my journal last night that the 'bers' are almost here. I am SO excited!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I am 100% biased, because today is my birthday so it's my favorite day of the year. But maybe... it's a lot of people's because of all the anticipation of "bers" and fall. From my perspective, the anticipation is the best part of most things, even if in actuality September is still wicked hot and sweaty, one can't shake the feelings that potentially it will be "sweater weather." So, I feel you friend. Happy September Eve!
ReplyDeleteThis year, I feel like I'm ready for it. Xx
ReplyDeleteI am 100% with you! Fall is the coziest season of all! My spirit comes alive in the Fall. Hugs to you dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThe mornings are cooler and the sky is deep blue these days. I do love September!
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yes! I'm joining you in a cup of cozy right now. The best time of year is coming. Happy September Eve! Miss you : )
ReplyDeleteThis year I am a bit ready for fall but my Midwestern experience tells me around here we most likely won't get your perfect weather until late September to possibly mid-October so I'll still be out in my gardens as I celebrate the changing seasons though maybe coming into a hot tea instead of an iced one. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteJoy to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo~ Amen!! Now if our weather wasn't in the triple digits!! I'm really looking forward to cooler temps! Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteLook at those white legs. Do you ever get any sun girl? Or are you secretly a vampire? Asking for a friend.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree with you. It was cool in Nebraska this morning, but now 90! If it could stay in the 60's or 70's all day, I'd be happy! Hope you have a wonderful day friend!
ReplyDeleteI join you fully dear Kindred Spirit 'O Mine! It's in the 80's and feels very summer today. But I had a cup of chai tea. And some clothes I ordered came - flannel hoodie shirt and cargo pants. Yay - it is truly right around the corner now!! ๐ ☕️ ๐
ReplyDelete'September Eve' I like that! And I join you in the anticipation and celebration! I cheated and decorated last weekend. Usually I wait till Sep. 1. I pulled some fall colored shirts out of storage and got them washed and ready today. It's supposed to be mid 80s here in my area of Wisconsin tomorrow but the mornings are always cool, so it's all good. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready to flip my calendar over in the morning! It's still hot here, but the humidity has dropped a bit for the first time in months it seems. Yay for September!!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! I am glad that it is September, but our temperatures are hotter than they were last summer. We are having record-breaking, triple digit heat until well into the month. It's all very unusual, because our September temperatures are usually really nice. I know that eventually things will cool off and I am looking forward to that. Enjoy the news month!
ReplyDeleteI'm still not ready! But I'll get there. There are many Fall things I enjoy. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of September Eve! I love cozy, but I think I love the barefoot and screeching hot days of summer more, with the crickets and the sweaty humid nights, and the warm pool. My pool was cold today, it was only 75 degrees out, and partly cloudy. I'm not ready to be done with it, it went by too fast. Good thing I do also like cozy....and long shadows, and pouring rain, dark days...:)

So beautiful ๐งก
ReplyDeleteI love that you're so excited for fall!! Enjoy every second!
ReplyDeleteSpring is one of my favorite seasons with lovely flowers ๐ tulips ๐ท and I still wear sweaters and sweatshirts which I last evening. It got cold in our house due to earlier sunset ๐ now and smoke from forest fires from southern Oregon. I couldn't even water my plants. Might do it this this morning before work. Sept sometimes can be a bit cooler though. Hopefully rain appears soon. Have a good day. ๐ป Becky
ReplyDeleteI am ready for fall too! Ready for cooler weather, but that won't happen until at least October or November here. We're about to start decorating for Halloween though!!! We already have everything staged in the garage.
ReplyDeleteI understand the allure of fall and it is my favorite season (though it is a very brief season here) but I am holding on to summer this year. It is passing so quickly.
ReplyDeleteThat boat ride looks so peaceful! Summer is nice. But yes, fall is lovely and I enjoy the rainy days!
ReplyDeleteI am joining you in a cup of hot coffee this morning, my friend. I am sipping on Dunkin Signature Series, and I know how much you like Dunkin. It's pretty good, right? Yes, looking forward to everything you mentioned here, cooler days and pumpkin spice. Loved everything about your post today - your Header is sweet for the start of school. And thank you for the bigger font - it's so much easier to read with these tired eyes.
ReplyDeleteWishing you wonderful September days, Billie Jo.
