Monday Morning Coffee Talk

Good Monday morning! Welcome to the last full week of June! Can you believe it? Time waits for no one, right? This is beautifully illustrated below with this photo Madison sent me on Friday afternoon. She took Flynn to the hairdresser, coffee shop, and Father's Day shopping. Wasn't it just yesterday that Madison was twelve, and she and her friends planned a surprise baby shower for me right before Flynn was born? Look at these two now. They also visited with my mom and stopped to get her a favorite chocolate milkshake!

Doesn't she look great?! Little visits bring such joy. To all of us! Sunday, we celebrated Steve on Father's Day! He requested burgers on the grill, so while he did cook, the kids all helped with everything else. Dinner was delicious! Burgers, fresh veggies, and potato salad. There were gifts, games, and fresh strawberry pie, made by Madison. So good!

Today is cooler here in Pennsylvania, so I am putting some chicken breast in the crockpot for a much-requested meal of Chicken and Waffles. Today I have laundry and some vacuuming to do, and I am also planning on starting to look through Flynn's books for the upcoming school year, something I actually get excited about! I hope you have a lovely Monday in your part of the world. What is for dinner at your house tonight?

( This poor little thing was thinking the tiki torch was a tree. I think I know how he feels sometimes! )

Thanks for visiting!

Billie Jo

  1. Such a sweet picture of your daughters. Time goes by so quickly doesn't it. I had to think when you said it's the last full week of June. Where did the month go?? We also had burgers on the grill per request and I made cherry hand pies. It was a good weekend. I hope you have a wonderful week.

  2. Hi Billie Jo. So glad you had a good weekend. I love Flynn's hair! It's so great that she has a good relationship with her big sister. Your Father's Day sounds nice and the food looks delicious! I'm not sure what dinner will be here tonight. We have so many leftovers in the fridge that we should probably use some of those up and clean out the fridge. I hope your week goes well. See you again soon!

  3. I love Flynn's hair! Your Father's day sounds wonderful. Today is supposed to be the coolest of the week so I am thinking spaghetti for dinner. The boys are off at an all day basketball camp so they are going to be starving. Lol. Have a wonderful week!

  4. Sounds like you all had another great weekend together and yes, the passing of time is just going by in the blink of an eye! So sweet your daughters like to spend time together and went to see their grandma. It's been cooler here all weekend and we have enjoyed it. I think tomorrow is supposed to start us back on the path to warmer temps. Have a blessed week!

  6. Flynn's hair looks great! Poor little woodpecker, think we've all had days like that especially on Mondays. Trying to figure out what to do with thawed leftover brisket (lunch yesterday) from the freezer for dinner around here. Doesn't sound great but it can't go back in the freezer and I don't want to waste it. Your dinner sounds better. Hope you have a wonderful week!

  7. Hi Billie Jo~ Your daughters are so beautiful, and I love Flynn's hair...so pretty! Father's Day was cold and windy here, in fact, I didn't even take a picture! Your lunch looks delicious, and the weather looks beautiful. Not sure what I'm having for dinner today, something with ground beef. It's cold again today, so maybe meatloaf and baked potatoes. Poor little woodpecker, he's like the rest of us...hanging on for dear life! Hugs, Barb

  11. Sisters are the best. I don't have any but I watched my mom with her sister and it's a bond like no other. Those burgers and veggies look great. And beautiful photo of your mom.

  12. Look at Flynn's new hair style and color! That was so nice of Madison to take her to the hair dresser for a new look. And visiting your mom and bringing her a chocolate milkshake I'm sure made her day. That burger looks delicious, along with that strawberry pie. What a sweet picture of the bird holding on to the tiki torch. Bird photos make me smile. Isn't it fun going through books? I hope Flynn has a good school year. I just read a quote yesterday that I think you'd like:

"There are bits and pieces of yourself scattered in every book you read."

Have a beautiful week, Billie Jo.

Time flies, indeed. I'm already getting regular updates on the weather in Pennsylvania, as my daughter is in Reading for the summer. Xx

  15. Another enjoyable read. It’s cool here in Bethlehem today. I have lots of projects to do but since arriving home from Maine I feel like just sitting with the fur babies and knitting…my work vacation wore me out. I loved your picture and comment of the woodpecker thinking the tiki post was a tree.❤️
