Friday again! This week brought a beautiful springlike day followed by a surprise snowfall that covered us with white, heavy snow. The next day, it disappeared as quickly as it arrived when the warm air returned, and once again, we felt as if spring had arrived. Time to pack up the boots and mop the floor, right? Well, not so fast. The little guy down below is not finished yet! We are forecast to see a significant snow event here in Pennsylvania this weekend, and honestly, I am ok with it. It is March, after all. If I can squeeze one more cozy as can be ~ sit by the fire and read ~ no place to go weekend, I am all in.
Tonight, before it begins, we plan to travel the short distance to our parish for the best fish fry ever! Then it will be home for fresh jammies and a cozy throw blanket. I have some peppers in the fridge, so I had Steve take some ground beef from the freezer, and I plan to make some stuffed peppers either Saturday or Sunday. We will watch mass and maybe do some sledding, but that is about it, my friends.
Do you know who this little guy is?
He has been a favorite since my childhood, and as I said, he will be busy this weekend! I will reveal his name at the end of this post!
I hope your weekend is happy, healthy, and safe. Thanks for visiting, and I will join in prayer for the courageous people of Ukraine.
Billie Jo
P.S. That is Snip The Snowflake Maker from Jack Frost, a beloved television show from my childhood!
Ahhh - I love Jack Frost... & all those animated shows. What a childhood memory.
ReplyDeleteYep - we're getting snow this weekend. & then back to 70 degrees a few days later - WOW!
We're getting snow today and then next week highs in the 60's. I'm like you, I'll take a nice weekend snow storm to snuggle up and read a good book. Spring will be here soon enough.
ReplyDeleteYes I recognized Snip right off. Enjoy your weekend!!
Oh, you got snow too! I loved seeing it in your area. Ours has melted also, and I'm not sure we will have another snowfall, but we'll see. Your little Snip is so cute, and wonderful that you have memories of watching Jack Frost from your childhood. Stuffed bell peppers sound delicious on a cold Winter day. Have a restful weekend, Billie Jo, staying in your comfortable home, and now I must scroll back up to see the lovely snow pictures. : )

I knew it was Jack Frost but couldn't remember his name. Thanks for the dinner idea, I also have peppers in the fridge. Hope you enjoy your cozy, snowy end of winter weekend!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know who he was for sure, but suspected because I did recognize him as a Rankin/Bass character. We, too, are under a winter storm warning this weekend. Originally, it was predicted to start tonight and be over by tomorrow afternoon. Now it's to be going on through Sunday and that's not good news. Mom and I are supposed to go to a basket bash that's a good distance from home. Oh well, it will be what it will be. I'll be joining you in spirit tonight...fish fry and jammies!
ReplyDeleteI recognized him but couldn't remember his name. Oh, how I used to love all of the claymation holiday shows at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSnip, Snap and Snir, was a favorite book of mine as a child. I think snip would be a cute name for a pet. Stay warm the weather is coming for you!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be getting snow this weekend - I hope you enjoy every minute of it! And yes, I remember Jack Frost from my childhood! He brings back sweet memories. I hope you enjoy the fish fry tonight! I'm making zucchini enchiladas for dinner and lasagna either tomorrow night or Sunday. Charlotte has a science project to work on this weekend and I'm hoping to just rest and be cozy after a busy week and maybe read a book. Enjoy your stuffed peppers - they sound delicious. Stay warm and cozy, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI wore sandals to work Monday and school was cancelled today for ice and snow.
ReplyDeleteGo figure.
Snip has been a busy guy for sure. Your weekend sounds lovely!

ReplyDeleteGlad you are planning a cozy weekend. I love those weekly fish frys. They sound delicious. Thanks so much for the idea of downloading that app - DARE. It's a good one and was very helpful to me this week. Have a good weekend. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteThose snow pictures are beautiful and I can think of nothing I would love more than a good snow event and being inside warm and cozy. We got one yesterday, unfortunately it just hit the mountains all around us and nothing in the city. So disappointing. but the skiers are happy so there's that. For us it will be a big Sam's club run and dinner out. And we too love snip. Enjoy your snow, sledding and cozy. And yes, many prayers for the people in Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteAll that snow looks so beautiful. Stay cosy by the fire. X
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... Snip the snowflake maker is so cute. What a clever idea his creator had - cutting snowflakes out with scissors!
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! All the snow pics look like post cards to me. It has been a cold winter (for us anyway!) and I am so ready for spring.
