Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday morning, my friends. My morning coffee is a latte from Dunkin'. Yes, I was up and about early this morning. I took my little Flynn to get a Covid test. She began feeling ill a few days ago with a sore throat, slight fever, cough, and congestion. My mind told me it was not the dreaded Covid, but my heart wanted to be sure. Brave soul that she is, she went first thing this morning, and while we waited, we got a treat and started home.

By the time I snapped this picture, we had received the good news that she was indeed negative! She took a long hot shower, I changed her bedsheets, doused the house with Lysol, and got her set up on the couch with a fresh sheet, pillow, and blanket. We are currently watching The Hunger Games. Doing all these things reminds me of the times my sweet mom did the same for me and how much better I always felt.

Have a cozy Monday, my friends. Soak in the summer. But rest assured, all things autumn are coming soon. In the case of this, all this...

August 18th!

  1. Oh, I am so happy to hear that Flynn's test came back negative. I hope she is feeling better very soon! I picked up a coffee from Starbuck's yesterday - just a house coffee with extra cream and it was so good. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Have a great day!

  6. So glad it was negative! And I hope she's better soon. I love the 'taking care of' when they're not feeling their best. I love how it even slows me down.

  9. I am thrilled for you that she is negative for Covid, and I am thrilled that you took her to be tested just to be certain. Now she can just take some needed time to get well (with love and care from Mom)
I am not ready for fall yet even though I am not crazy about some of the crazy temps lately.

  11. I am happy to hear that the test result was negative. My Niece and her entire family have had it. It just kept moving around. Fortunately they haven't been terribly sick and now it is almost over FOR THEM. I do everything possible to stay away from that nasty virus. I pray that Flynn feels better and your care reminds me of my Mama too:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

  16. Oh, I'm so glad to hear Flynn does not have the virus. I hope she is feeling better since you wrote this post. I used to watch The Hunger Games all the time. It was so strange to me, but I really liked the movie. I noticed your little pumpkin in the distance and it made me smile. I just bought my first Fall coffee cup today, couldn't resist. ; )
