It's Halloween Week!

Happy Halloween Week, my friends! I am happy because...Halloween. But also a bit sad because...Halloween over. I will say we made the most of this time so far. Saturday was our trick~or~treating day and it dawned perfectly. It was crisp and foggy and quite spooky!

My youngest, formally Cinderella, was instead another favorite this year. She dressed as Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. She loved it because she loves those movies. I loved it because it was a one-piece costume that was warm and comfortable. Yay. We started out with just one trick~or~treater, and honestly, I teared up watching her go house to house all alone. But she loved it! She smiled and grinned at every house. About halfway through, she was joined by Peyton and Chris! They wanted to go with her, and although Chris didn't technically trick~or~treat, he went along in the coolest costume ever!

Afterward, we had the traditional dumping and sorting of candy, followed by an easy but fun meal of taco dip and mummy dogs. Marian was here to celebrate with us, and Madison and Nicolas too! It was noisy and festive and fun and yummy and everything family celebrations should be.

This week will be much more subdued, with Halloween books and movies, along with a special dinner on Halloween. I hope you are having a wonderful last week of this beautiful month, my friends, however you celebrate.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh, the costumes are cute, especially the little doggy's. Oh, I smiled when I saw the candy being sorted out. My kids always loved to do that after trick-or-treating. The bean dip looks so Yummy, and the hot dogs are creative. Fun times for sure.

    Happy Halloween, Billie Jo.

  2. They do not trick or treat on actual Halloween? I love her costume. One of my favorite series.

    1. Hello!
No, here in our area the trick~or~treating is on a weekend.
Some areas nearby do it on actual Halloween.
We will have a spooky meal and movie night!
      Thanks for visiting!

  3. Well, at least it's not technically over yet! You could always go to another town and trick-or-treat on Thursday! :) And why does Flynn look like a teenager in these pictures??????

  6. Interesting that you don't go on Halloween there. I know they've been trying to change it (don't remember if it's a state or national thing) to the last Saturday of the month. There were lots of Trunk or Treats on Saturday & Sunday here, good thing as those days had nice weather and snow is in our forecast for the day. Great costumes, pictures, and oh, that candy haul. Happy Halloween!
