The puppies had a date at the groomer~or spa~as we tell them.
We take them to our local Petco, and they always come home smelling and looking amazing!
Our Friday night Fish Fry was a success, and we were so happy to celebrate our dear friend Blueberry Mary turning 88! She and my mom are the best of friends. Shout out to Margie and Chris for picking them both up and returning them home safely.
Marian came up Saturday, and guess what? She brought us Chick-Fil-A!!! You have no idea how excited we all were! We are hours away from the nearest one, and we love it so much! How awesome is a best friend that drives up to spend the night, AND brings the best food ever??? Good thing she did, because our dinner after mass was less than amazing, so we went to the diner for some old fashioned ice cream sundaes. Crisis averted.
Sunday we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with our traditional fruit rainbow and without the super cute leprechaun chocolates I had bought and hidden in my closet. The same ones I found yesterday.
Finally, the sun was shining this week as Steve and I headed to the doctor for our annual check-ups. Yep. We even do that together. All went well, and we are set for a while. I had my annual eye doctor appointment last week, so that leaves my annual female appointment and my mammogram, both in a couple weeks. Am I looking forward to those? Not particularly. But I am thankful I have the opportunity to be screened annually. So all you lovely ladies out there, pick up that phone and make that dreaded appointment. We are all in this together!
Enough preaching. Have a great weekend, my friends.
Thanks for visiting!
"...our dear friend Blueberry Mary turning 88!"
ReplyDeleteI love her name. It's a Title and a story...What is the story behind that name, by the way? :)
Yes! She is a dear friend of our family.
DeleteYears ago, she and her husband had blueberry bushes in their yard. They would bring us bags of perfectly picked berries all summer! After her husband Tom passed, she moved in with her daughter and then her son. We love her so, and continue to have her visit with us as often as we can. My kids were so small when she brought us the berries, they called her Blueberry Mary. : )
;-) haha! That is sweet!
DeleteI love it that you hid those adorable chocolate leprechauns and didn't find them until yesterday. That is SO me! And, I have to ask, are those beauties on the fruit rainbow plate meringues? I had a friend over this week for tea and she brought some amazing meringues!
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures of your mom and her best friend! How special and it looks as if they both were thoroughly enjoying themselves! I am thinking you get your love for life from your mom.
Good for you for getting those doctor appointments out of the way and the rest scheduled. Mine come in June. :)
Have a cozy weekend, dear Billie Jo...and YAY for Chick-fil-A!
Hello!
DeleteThe clouds on the rainbow are actually our favorite fruit dip!
So easy...equal parts cream cheese and marshmallow cream. : )
It looks like you all had a very nice week! How thoughtful of your friend to bring you all Chick-fil-a, that is what I had for dinner yesterday evening myself. I love it so very much. Well have a cozy weekend my friend. Hugs. ~Juli
ReplyDeleteI am always up on all my screenings and check-ups, too. Good for you for staying on top of all that. The mammos are so much easier now that they are using the 3D imaging here.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of your mom and her best friend...and the rainbow!
We love Chic-Fil-A, too. I think our closest is 3 hours away. We always get it when we go to my daughter's house. xo Diana
I always love your posts, so happy and fun. Great idea for St patty's day.
ReplyDeleteYay for Chick-Fil-A, check ups and clean doggies! Sounds like a great week, I hope your weekend is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh the fun of those annual mammograms. A necessary evil, if you will. Love the fruit rainbow presentation! The pictures of Mom and her friend are precious!
ReplyDeleteThe fruit and dip looked delicious but the sundae's really did catch my attention they looked so yummy. What a great friend bringing your favourite food along with her. Such a lovely photo of your sweet Mum and her friend.
ReplyDeleteI had a Chick-fil-a ice cream yesterday. Ours is close but the line is always really long. Marc and I go for our yearly physical together too. I have finished with ALL of my check-ups, SO important! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Billie Jo!
ReplyDeleteRochester (an hour) is getting a Chick--we can't wait, smiles. Lovely photos and happy belated birthday to Blueberry Mary.
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! That fruit rainbow of yours is my favorite! Every single year I make the big "boiled" Corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes meal. Good but boy does that cabbage smell up the house!! lol.. I do the green iced cinnamon rolls too! My kiddies like to leave their shoes out the night before Saint Patty's Day because the Leprechaun by us likes to leave chocolate coins in them if you do ;)
ReplyDeleteYour Marian sounds like an amazing friend! Chik-Fil-a is my favorite!! I love their chicken sandwiches and especially their fresh chicken wrap! So good!! I always get it with the avacodo-lime dressing packet on the side! And their shakes are SOOOOO good especially the frozen lemonade one! Tart, sweet, creamy and lemony good!
Lastly! Thanks for the encouragement,
I definitely need to get on scheduling some doctor appointments! I am going to be 40 in about 2 months. I am the kind of person who avoids doctors at all costs because they give me anxiety and I am always afraid I am going to get horrible news! Although afterwards, I actually feel relieved! lol.. But the thought gives me anxiety! I have no problem taking my kids to the doctors, just myself! lol.. Hope you are having a blessed Lent❤ I am always reading along and enjoying your blog! Even though I don't always comment, I am always reading every morning with my cup of coffee :)
Love,
Lisa
