Friday!

Are you just loving these October days, my friends? We sure are. Although, sometimes I have to remind myself that these are the days I wait all year for. I get so wrapped up in the day to day routine that I forget to take note of the glorious shades of orange the leaves are beginning to display. I don't want these days to pass by without filling them with all things autumn and Halloween. But first, a wrap up of the past week here in our cozy home!

We started off last weekend by celebrating my bestie Marian!
We could not love this amazing woman more!

And that has nothing to do with her uncanny ability to bring me the most perfect gifts ever.
Honestly.

Saturday found us taking our one and only son to his first Homecoming Dance!
We went to Mass first, and he served, so the tie was tucked into my purse.

Until after Mass, when this moment melted my heart.

And then there was this one.
Rhett was so happy his friend Sophie asked him to the dance.
And I was too.

She is a lovely young lady, and they had a great time together.

Random fun fact...
These are the BEST pop-tarts EVER!
And they stopped making them years ago.
I ran into the store Saturday evening and happened to glance at the display.
I was so excited to see them, I snapped a picture to send to the kids.
And then I bought way too many boxes.
Stocking up, you know.

Sunday afternoon found some of my people heading to Pittsburgh to cheer on our Steelers.
Apparently, not nearly enough.
But, they had fun, and that is what matters.

Madison, Flynn, and I enjoyed a cozy evening at home with cocoa, coffee, and movies.
And we had fun too.

Peyton baked a pie.
Apple cream.
Perfect.

My sisters Margie and Scarlett helped my mom go through her things before we moved her into her new place. My dear mom had kept some of my dad's favorite shirts. She gave them to me, and I am so thankful to have a few more pieces of him to keep forever. I might make them into a pillow someday, but for now, they are washed and folded and will be safe and sound inside my cedar chest.

My Mocha.

October in my little world.

Enjoy your October, my friends.
Thank you for visiting.
I am so happy you do!

  9. How handsome is Rhett?! Wow! So happy you had a wonderful week, celebrating Marian and full of all sorts of goodness. Thank you for being real and loving Pop Tarts. I will check and see if they have that kind this weekend. And your dad's shirts. My vote? Keep them as shirts. We were gifted two bears made from my husband's grandfather and my MIL's shirts for our wedding. The only problem? They're super creepy! We don't want to get rid of them, because they are sentimental so our two bears sit in my cedar chest. I would have rather had two shirts! (Or pillows would have been good too actually, just don't get bears.) Have a wonderful weekend.

  10. What lovely photos, especially those of your son at Mass and his homecoming dance, ones to treasure I think. Dear Mocha is such a sweetie, curled up so cosily. It looks like you've had a good week, and I'm glad you're enjoying October so far, it's a lovely month, as things get cooler and everyone moves indoors a little more. Have a good weekend Billie Jo. 16. Somehow I sent the other comment in before finishing what I was going to say...DUH! anyway, I love Oct. my fave month, fave time of the yr. just wishing that Mother Nature was aware of the fact that it is fall time and the temps don’t need to be in the 90s. Mornings on the deck are not so bad but the afternoons are horrible! Hoping you cont to enjoy the month.
