Cocoa And Cookies

This time of years lends itself to all kinds of festive fun. The evenings are cooler and longer as darkness falls sooner.  We embrace this seasonal shift by continuing simple traditions started years ago.

Just for fun!
I found these oatmeal place and bake cookies at Walmart, and the orange colored cocoa packets right
here on the McStevens website.  We will enjoy this little treat while watching one of our favorite Halloween movies...like Twitches or Halloweentown.

What are some of your family traditions, my friends?
Have a cozy day!

  1. What a fun tradition! I've never seen individual cookies like that. Need to keep an eye out. We don't have a lot of fall traditions but reading your posts always makes me think I need to start some :)

  2. We seem to have more Christmas traditions that Autumn ones but we are not too old to start some.

  3. Love this-Billie Jo! I love those fun little, unexpected things that happen in families that kind of become tradition. This is not a Fall tradition but in our family I buy all the grandkids (from baby to senior high school) matching pjs. They open them Christmas eve and wear them all Christmas Day. I have been doing this with my own kids since 1978..and now the grands.

Have a wonderful blessed day. xo Diana

  4. I got those cookies too!! Will be baking them this week! We watch Halloweentown every single year as well! We usually cuddle around the TV & eat pizza while watching it :) So many cozy things! A lot of desserts in the evening while we all watch a movie or a show! That pretty much goes on from fall all the way through winter! lol.. I love printing up October's dinner menu and hanging it up on the fridge! My kids get a real kick out of it! Each meal is named after a character or Halloweenish! Like Charlie Brown's Chicken Tacos or Cinderella's Bippitty Boppotty Boo-tique Bowl of Chili. . Well you get the point ;) And of course we LOVE just going on walks, pumpkin picking and we frequent Great Adventure theme park a lot this time of the year! So much fun!! I could go on forever of all the fun things & traditions of this time of the year! If only fall were longer! And this year I have started going on bike rides WITH my kids!! And let me tell you how much fun it is!!!! And playing tennis at the park with them! Seriously so much fun and wonderful to do around this time of the year! Maybe you'll give it a go ;) Happy Fall!! Xoxo

  5. Halloween is fun when you have kiddos at home. We don't celebrate the day anymore. I do love your traditions, though!

  6. Seriously you have the best Yankee Candles and I love your Halloween tradition. I still love to decorate and make a spooky Halloween dinner even though our kids are grown and gone. I can't seem to shake it and very much enjoy the season. I'm thinking about having my neighbor kids over to help me make monster eye Rice Krispy treats.

  8. These are my favorite kind of cozy traditions. We got the Pillsbury pumpkin sugar cookies because that's what my parents got for us when we were little so those scream fall to me! We are going to watch Double Double Toil and Trouble this weekend with the cookies, and maybe a pizza. (The Mary Kate and Ashley movie, have you seen that one?) I love Halloweentown, I wonder if my kids would?

  9. Love your photos...our tradition is to get as many family members as we can gather, carve pumpkins, take photos and roast marshmallows.
