Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday! First of all, I must thank you so very much for all the kind comments on my anniversary post this week. I am indeed blessed to have made so many wonderful friends these past five years. The winners of my fancy schmancy drawing will be announced Monday. Good Luck!

Now a look back at the week that was here in our country home...

It was all about summer...
Peyton made delicious shortcake...
One night with peaches, the next with strawberries.

We spent mornings outside, before the afternoon sun made it way too hot...

And bubbles were a favorite this week.
Sidenote: That bubble wand? Fifteen years old!
I bought them for the girls before Rhett was born, so they would have something fun to do while I was in the hospital.
They make awesome bubbles. And hold sooo many memories too.

I spent much of the morning on the swing babysitting this little cutie.

Summer afternoons mean fun inside with my girl and her pup.

And summer evenings?
Husking fresh corn outside with my kids.

Thank you all for the kind words and prayers as my Madison returned to Denmark for the fall semester. It was hard. Ok...really hard. For all of us.
But, once she left and got there and settled,
She was smiling again.
Which made my heart smile too.

Something else that made me smile?
My hubby brought me these happy flowers in celebration of my little old blog turning five.

Our weekend includes a family reunion and some relaxation.
How about you?
Whatever your plans are, I hope you enjoy them with your people!
Thanks for visiting!

  1. A perfect week! Bubbles, corn and shortcake? I mean could it be more quintessential? I think not! So glad everyone is safe and happy in Denmark. Everyone smiling is definitely the best case scenario. Have a marvelous weekend!

  3. It really is the little things like bubbles and a wand that make a day special. I am loving the picture above of the outdoor get together. Miss those simpler times.

  5. Enjoyed reading about your week in your happy home. I love how you make each season special...such as the peaches, strawberries and corn. I love seeing your little one enjoying life, and so happy Madison is back safe and sound and pray the new school year goes well. You will begin home school again soon too wont you? Question: Why did Madison choose Denmark to go to school and what is she studying?

So I just know they will love this one!! If you haven't taken your kids yet, you should!! Go on a weekday, that way you avoid all the traffic from everyone going up into the city for work ;) Anyhow!

  21. A beautiful post, full of fun, smiles and family! This weekend my middle daughter and I sat at the kitchen table and listened to a cassette tape of her when she was 2! Hearing her try to say 'motorcycle' made us both laugh!
