Weekend Plans

Happy March, my friends! And happy weekend! We have a few fun plans this weekend as well as some relaxing family time. Friday is free, as is Saturday during the day. I plan on some light work around the house. And some time on my freshly vacuumed sofa with my book and a cup of coffee.

Saturday late afternoon we have Mass. After that, Steve and Rhett are attending a Turkey Federation dinner with some friends. My mom and sister Margie are coming up to eat dinner and visit since Margie's hubby Chris is going to the dinner too. We will probably order out and play some games or watch a movie.

Sunday Steve and I have some plans with our friends Heather and Dave. And then of course...The Walking Dead to round out the weekend. : )

Our last week of February was fun, with even a touch of spring weather.

My girl and her Bitty Baby all ready for Mass last weekend...

And our first bright blue skies of the year.

My Flynn noticed that our friends were back!
And quickly grabbed my camera and took a picture.
Blogger in training!

We celebrated Mardi Gras on Tuesday...

First, we decorated the table...

And then waited for Grandma to arrive.

For dinner, we feasted on some delicious Jambalaya and cornbread.

For dessert, Peyton made and decorated these King Cake Cupcakes.
They were cinnamon swirl with cream cheese icing.
Waaaay better than any King Cake we've had. : )

And then it was Ash Wednesday.
My girl was excited to go to church and get her ashes.
And to go to the Fish Fry after. : )

Me and my girl.

We began our Lenten practice of choosing an intention to pray for during our daily Decade of the Rosary. Look who was the very first intention. : )

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.

  6. No way, Billie Jo is that Flynn...look how much she has grown, smiles. No spring weather today here in western NY, friend...heavy snow squalls and 14*...just think the other day was 70*.

    Have a beautiful weekend, friend.

  11. Happy weekend to you Sweetie! Your Mardi Gras time looked so fun. ;) I love jambalaya, but the rest of my Crew doesn't as much - so we celebrated the national pancake day instead and and had Pascal's yummy pancakes. They were so good! We might have thrown some blueberries in a couple of them too. Pure yummy so thanks for sharing that recipe!

We also went for Ash Wednesday with my Mom too. I feel ready for this Lenten season. I've been observing it all much better than I have in the past too. I've been doing more devotional time, fasting more and I've given up late night snacking - which is my BAD weakness. Doing lots of prayer to help me through. Lol

Blessings on your lovely restful weekend ahead! xoxo

  15. Wow, How fun you make everything! Your weekend sounds delightful, Flynn is such a cutie. I Love that you pray a decade of the rosary <3 I love your photo with Flynn on Ash Wednesday (did you see mark Warburg and his wife's on his IG?) - I like that guy because he seems like such a good Catholic & Family man, and honestly I would of never knew it until I was led to his IG by a Catholic site I follow. Have a great day my friend.
