This Little Blog Turns Three!

That's right...it has been three years since I hit "Publish" on the first post on this little old blog. I did it knowing nothing about blogging, other than the fact that I had enjoyed reading a few other blogs for a few years prior. I didn't know what I would blog about, or how to photograph something well, or how to link or change my background. Three years later, I don't know a whole lot more, but I do know that I am glad I jumped in and started. When people ask my why I blog...I tell them it is kind of like an online scrapbook. It is a way for me to look back and remember the important and the mundane...the holidays and ordinary days...the times that pass quickly and without fanfare.

It is also a ticket...a ticket for me to visit places and people and homes and families that I otherwise would never have the chance to see and to know. I have made amazing friends here...friends who inspire me and pray for me and encourage me to be a better woman, wife, mother, teacher, Catholic, and friend. I gained the inspiration and confidence to homeschool our children thorough my Blog friends...I learned how to take better pictures, and have exchanged delicious recipes here. I have found a peace in my heart knowing that there are other women out there who share my love of all things home and family. And for all these things...I am thankful.

But enough about me! Birthdays are times to celebrate...and celebrate we shall! If you have read this blog for any period of time, you know my love holidays...and my love of fall and Halloween. To thank you all for sharing your lives with me, I am giving away a small token of my appreciation in celebration of three Bloggy years! If you would like to enter for a chance to win these cute and festive Halloween pillows and a very amazing scented Yankee candle, just let me know down below. We will draw a name from all entries received by midnight on Wednesday, August 5, and I will post the winner's name on Thursday.

So once again...thanks for reading...and if any of you are thinking about possibly starting your own blog...my advice? Jump right in! : )

  9. I always enjoy coming to your blog. You are a wonderful Mother, and your children are growing up to be intelligent, well behaved and responsible folks, all because of you and your hubby. You love celebrating holidays like we do, so we at least have that in common. I am twice your age, and my children grown, married and allow me to enjoy my grandchildren now. Blessings to you and yours.

  10. I'm so ready for the smell of pumpkin spice and all the other aromas of Fall. At first blogging was a way of expressing my grief after my parents died, then it became an avenue to deal with depression, then it became a display of my vignettes, and now it is just a hodge podge of them all-now especially the grands. I found recently that you can make a book of your posts. You should do that someday for your chidlren.

  15. Happy Blogaversary!!!! I hope that you enjoy many more years of blogging. I am fairly new to your blog, but I do enjoy it a lot! Please don't enter me, not because I would not love to win or because it isn't a lovely prize, but sending a yankee candle all that way would cost you a fortune! xx
