Weekend Plans

The Weekend is here again, my friends. The first weekend of March. And a special one here for us, as my Madison is receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. : ) Friday is a quiet night at home for some...a busy night of work for others. Madison will be back to work at Dairy Queen, and Rhett will helping out at the theater for the premiere of a much anticipated film...Son of God. I have read so many good things about this movie. I can't wait to see it. : )

Saturday can be summed up in two words. Deep Clean. My house needs a good- roll up your sleeves- fill the bucket- and scrub away type of cleaning. And Steve will be here to help! : ) Madison is working, but the rest of us will be spending the day getting this house in order. Once we clean, I plan on packing up the pink and red hearts, and replacing them with green and gold shamrocks. We don't have Mass on Saturday night, as we will be attending Sunday, so it will be a nice night to rest up after all that cleaning. Take out pizza and a movie sounds good, don't you think?

Sunday is my Madison's Confirmation day. She has prepared for this all year, and is ready to receive this beautiful sacrament. Her friend Jeffrey is coming home to be her sponsor, and my mom is coming as well. Margie and her husband Chris have offered to stay at home with Flynn. I agreed. There are around ninety young people being confirmed, and I think that may be a bit long for Flynn to stay interested. And quiet. ; ) After Mass, we are going out to celebrate and then heading home before yet another big winter storm arrives.

And that, my dear friends, is what we will be up to this weekend. I hope yours is happy and cozy and full of family and fun, whatever your plans may be. Thanks for visiting. I am always glad you do! : )

We have had some beautiful winter weather this year...

this is what I saw one morning when I took my pup outside...

pretty pretty pretty. : )

Last Saturday, it was finally nice enough to venture outside before Mass. We usually just run from the house to the van in the garage! It was so nice to step outside and see the sun. : )

And then after, while she was beating us all at a game of Hedbanz. : )

Here is the movie I can't wait to see. : )
I am planning on some night next week. Anyone else planning on seeing it?

Look at these pretty, sweet tasting things I picked up at our little grocery store this week...Flynn eats these by the handful!

I prefer mine sliced up with an assortment of others...alongside a big plate of  hot, buttered French Toast. : )

Someone loved the sweet little crayon buckets I set on her table this week. : )

And she loved her movie date with Rhett and Daddy to see The Lego Movie. I am so thankful for my hubby. He always enjoys taking the kids to movies and such. He knows what a stay-at-home gal he married. : )

  4. I heard it was a good movie. I think we'll be waiting till Son of God is on DVD so we can rent it. We try not to ask my mom too often for movie dates, since they are longer and we enjoy eating out and talking more for dates.

Love all the sweet pictures. I wish the younger kids would leave Lucia's crayons alone so I could put them in a container like that. They run off with them to color on the wall, break them, and stick them in places I can't reach. They can be stinkers sometimes :)

  6. I want to see the Son of God movie too. I also heard that A Winter's Tale is another good faith movie so that is on my list as well. Congrats to Madison on her confirmation! Thank you for teaching your children to love the Lord. The world needs more parents like you! Tell your daughter that people who work at DQ are way cool! My two daughters both worked at our local Dairy Queens (two different ones) when they were in high school. You are raising your children to be faith-filled, hard-working adults! I salute you!

  10. Congratulations Madison. I can't wait to see the pictures! Please share. I'll be praying for a blessed day for you and your family. xoxox

We could use a deep clean around here too ~ crayon cups, too cute! ~ and that movie is a must see for me too. Not sure how to fit it in but I must! Those are always so hard to watch though aren't they? I remember seeing The Passion years ago and it moved me for sure. You see this one first and then report back, ok? ~ Enjoy the time with your sister and your celebration Billie Jo!

  13. Congratulations to Madison on her Confirmation! What an exciting day for all of you! I can not wait to see pictures!
I think I am going to do some deep cleaning here this weekend as well. I feel like we have been sick a lot this winter. If nothing else our house will smell clean. I know it may be crazy but I love the smell of Lysol and bleach.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  14. Hi Billie Jo! Your Flynn has the most gorgeous hair. So long and thick! Does she like brushing/washing it? My daughter had long hair as a little one, and did not like that one bit!
What name did Madison pick? Confirmation is such a wonderful Sacrament. I always feel like everyone in attendance gets splashed by the grace too. We are expecting a ton of snow Sunday/Monday, so I hope it all holds off for your celebration.
I know cleaning is never on my fav list, but looking at the results sure is!
I'll be praying for you in Adoration tonight, and Madison too, for a wonderful day.
    Blessings!

  19. I'll be praying for Madison on her special day!!

Love all the shamrocks over here! I am doing the same with decorating by the month- I might take down all our heart stuff today though...

Our church is doing a thing with that movie (The Son of God) where it's 6 bucks/ticket and Father is meeting everyone who goes afterward for pizza...Tom is taking the big kids. I'd love to catch it too...but I'll stay with the littles and probably end up watching The Passion before lent starts.

    Have a wonderful weekend celebrating!

I just don't know about the movie. I just cannot imagine anyone else being Jesus except for Jim Keziviel(sp)...the whole time I would be like...nope..not good enough. I know I know..I am too picky.
