Weekend Plans

The weekend is here...and it is going to warm up! Just seeing the sunlight streaming through the windows makes me happy! And sad. Apparently, dust is clearly more visible in sunlight. Anyway, Friday night finds us home and without plans. The kids have requested fish fries for dinner. So fish fries it is. After that, we will probably watch a movie and fall asleep on the couch.

Saturday during the day is free as well. Steve and I will probably draw straws to see which of us gets to has to make the monthly run to Walmart for laundry soap, plastic wrap, and Clorox wipes. Wish me luck, ladies. Saturday early evening is Mass, and after that, Steve, Rhett, and Madison's boyfriend Ryan are attending a Wild Game Dinner here in town. Steve sponsors it through work, so they are going for a night out. Madison has work so Peyton, Flynn and I may head out for some Chinese food! Beef with Broccoli ...yummmm!

Sunday is supposed to be warmer here...almost 50 degrees! Madison is working at 3, so I am planning our big meal before she goes. Steve is going to cook on the grill for the first time this year, and I am going to try a new recipe to go along with it. It is ziti salad, with cucumbers and onions and a homemade dressing. I will let you know how it turns out.

After lunch, we are going to make our annual Shamrock Sugar Cookies. I have the best recipe I received from a mom of one of my students years ago when I was teaching. We don't make sugar cookies at Christmas, because we make so many others, and Valentines Day has so much chocolate, so I began making them at St. Patrick's Day, and it became a tradition. Imagine that...me and traditions?  : )

A couple of my dear sweet Blogger friends recently celebrated their special days! Please stop by and wish Patty a Happy Birthday!!!! She was one of the first friends I made when I joined this wonderful world of Blogging and she has the sweetest family! And my new friend Colleen also had a special day recently, in fact, she shares it with her son! She always makes me smile and has some super cute kids too!

Well, that is what we will be up to this weekend. I hope yours is happy, and sunny, and fun, whatever your plans may be!

This is what Flynn and I have been working on this week. These are the same letters I have taught all my kids their ABCs with. : )
