Saturday during the day is free as well. Steve and I will probably draw straws to see which of us
Sunday is supposed to be warmer here...almost 50 degrees! Madison is working at 3, so I am planning our big meal before she goes. Steve is going to cook on the grill for the first time this year, and I am going to try a new recipe to go along with it. It is ziti salad, with cucumbers and onions and a homemade dressing. I will let you know how it turns out.
After lunch, we are going to make our annual Shamrock Sugar Cookies. I have the best recipe I received from a mom of one of my students years ago when I was teaching. We don't make sugar cookies at Christmas, because we make so many others, and Valentines Day has so much chocolate, so I began making them at St. Patrick's Day, and it became a tradition. Imagine that...me and traditions? : )
A couple of my dear sweet Blogger friends recently celebrated their special days! Please stop by and wish Patty a Happy Birthday!!!! She was one of the first friends I made when I joined this wonderful world of Blogging and she has the sweetest family! And my new friend Colleen also had a special day recently, in fact, she shares it with her son! She always makes me smile and has some super cute kids too!
Well, that is what we will be up to this weekend. I hope yours is happy, and sunny, and fun, whatever your plans may be!
This would be Flynn eating Madison's pumpkin bread when she left it to go make some coffee...
This little guy loves our brown blanket! He will snuggle with whoever has it!
Peyton whipped these up this week...and they were as good as they look!
This is what Flynn and I have been working on this week. These are the same letters I have taught all my kids their ABCs with. : )
Those cupcakes are so cute! Hope you all have a very happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth :)
Thanks for the linky love! Please let me know about that cucumber pasta salad...I have a cuke in my fridge just begging for a recipe :-)
ReplyDeleteWhere is time going...how can it be the weekend already? Do you feel like time just flies by? I love when your share your plans with us. I think I remember you posting before about fish fries, but I don't remember what they are. Different from fish fries at church/parishes, right?!!!
ReplyDeleteShamrock sugar cookies sound delish! Happy Baking! I would love to go eat Chinese with you! LOL
Oh I love those letters! Are they magnets? So cute.. and a keeper for sure! I think I might work Chinese food into our weekend... I love beef and broccoli too! We cooked on the grill last weekend but it was way too cold. I think we started too early... there was still snow on the ground! Looking forward to 40's here this weekend.. with a possible snow day tomorrow... crazy March! Have a happy one friend! ~tara
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your dog is so adorable! Chinese with the girls sounds fun! Have a great weekend and enjoy the "warm" weather.
ReplyDeleteAh! Thanks for the birthday shout out. So very kind and sweet of you! A wild game dinner....my hubs would luv to be there partaking in that meal. He is a wild game nut. Not so much myself though ;) Have a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow is Miss E's birthday and her horse party is Saturday. (of course it is calling for rain ;( Keep good weather for her and the party in your prayers!
ReplyDeleteOnce again your weekend sounds wonderful. I hope you husband is the lucky on who gets to make the Walmart trip. ;)I am with you on Walmart.
ReplyDeleteWild game dinner...my husband would be all over that...me not to sure. The beef and broccoli sounds like my kind of dinner. Oh and the sugar cookies. You will need to share the recipe so i can add it to my other wonderful recipes from you.
Flynn what a cutie!
I have no idea what state you live in, but I was just telling my daughter about 50 degree days and once it hits 50 degrees, tons of snow will melt and we will want to go without our jackets!! (she was asking how long I thought we'd have snow) (I said April sometime)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
