Hello, my friends! So, we are moved! Last week, we packed up and said goodbye to our country house near the ocean and moved into a coastal-style house a few miles down the road. We have been here for a week now, and I am happy to report that it feels like home. Here are a few pictures of the house so far. You know, before it is all decked out for fall!
I was happy to get back to cooking, even though our first few meals were simple; they tasted so good after several days of takeout while the pots and pans were packed up and driven down the road.
And so, we are settled in and ready to begin a new homeschool year next week. Please note that while these pictures portray a clean and organized home, this was not always the case. Not pictured, but most definitely present, were stacks of open and unopened cardboard boxes, as well as piles of random items such as hangers, can openers, dog toys, and empty Cool Whip containers. In addition, there exists no photographic evidence of me during the couple of days last weekend, when no amount of deodorant or cold water could stop the sweat of a menopausal woman in the throes of organizing a kitchen before she goes to bed. It was a rewarding experience, however, as my kids all worked hard to have clean sheets on our beds that first night, and fresh towels for showers. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, my friends!
I look forward to catching up with you soon!
Billie Jo

ReplyDeleteThe house that you moved into looks very nice by a river!! I hope you have a good weekend and get a few things done at your house. Are you renting it per month? Looks like the dogs are cozy on the bed. My daughter has been taking care of her boyfriend's two cats and a dog since Wed. He left to go to see his aunt in Arizona and was there on Thursday. She passed away a bit later that day. Now in NM with an uncle till next later next week. I have been making my own dinners from my mind at times, and they do taste good. God bless you!!

Such an absolutely gorgeous home. The pantry does it for me. Add in the lake and the beautiful great room and I would never, ever leave. I'm so happy for you. Today, (Sept 1) is our 47 anniversary and we're heading out camping for a few days in just a little while. It's raining here but I'm looking forward to being in our new camper and enjoying the now cool weather.

With each move I've made, the kitchen and bedrooms had to be at least serviceable before going to bed on move-in day. You need that kitchen and you need a bed to sleep in!!
