How Well Do You Know Your Christmas Movies?

The classic Christmas movies are the best, don't you think? Watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for the first time with my children took me back to a magical place I thought I had left behind forever: childhood. I still remember watching Santa Claus is Coming to Town with a two-year-old Madison and realizing that I could experience the magic of Christmas again, this time through my child's eyes! We have many favorites, some familiar and some not so much. Let's see how many you remember on this snowy Wednesday morning. The answers are down below!

Thanks for playing, my friends. I am sure each of these is available on a streaming platform. Why not choose a favorite to watch tonight? Even watching without young children, we can experience the joy of childhood at Christmas, which is something we can all appreciate these days. There are many more I could have added, but these are our favorites. How did you do? Do you have a favorite?

Oh, One more thing! The stocking holder we use is available at Amazon. We used to hang our stockings from the fireplace mantle until one Christmas Eve when a little Peyton got bonked on the head with a heavy stocking holder letter from a word I can't remember. Those things went into the trash that night!

This Or That...Thanksgiving Edition

Just wondering where you stand on these very important issues...

Do you prefer white meat or dark?

Does your turkey get juicy in a cooking bag or not?

Is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on at your house, or is it football all day?

Do you eat your special meal at lunchtime or later in the day?

Paper plates or the good stuff?

Do you get dressed up for dinner, or is it casual?

And, for the most important one of all...Pumpkin pie or Apple pie?

My answers are down below!
Happy Wednesday!

For the record, my answers are...

Dark meat. Only and forever.

I always cook my turkey in a Reynolds cooking bag.

We used to watch the parade when the kids were little. Now, not so much.

We eat later in the day. I enjoy relaxing a bit before the cooking begins!

It depends on the year as far as the plates. Lately, we have used our fancy plates.

We do not look Pinterst-worthy when we eat! We are comfy, though!

Pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Period!

Almost Here Again

Well, I've waited as long as I can. I thoroughly enjoyed summer. I really did. And I know we have more sunny days, boat rides, and hot dogs on the grill to come. But something else is coming. Soon, the cooler air will allow for soft, cozy sweaters, the leaves will say goodbye with one last burst of brilliant color, and the afternoon will slowly slip into evening a bit sooner.

I loved fall before it was cool to do so. I didn't need Pinterest to tell me how cozy autumn days are. I have always loved the fresh start of the new school year, the cooler mornings, and the gently falling leaves.

I love the cozy nights that gradually come sooner. Autumn evenings are spent on the couch in fresh pajamas after a shower with a soft throw and a good book.

I love the comfy food of fall. I love sloppy joes and crockpot soups, pumpkin cake, and apple pie.

And, of course, I love a steaming hot pumpkin spice latte.

But really, what I love most about autumn is knowing that we are in the twilight of the year. I love the feeling of contentment and peace autumn brings. We turn inward and spend more time together in the comfort of home. Time slows, and life can be simple. And cozy, of course.

Happy almost autumn, my friends!

Thanks, Google, for the fun!

I Didn't Make These...

You May Not Know This But...

I was once able to make copies of these on a really loud machine. One was for the car ignition, the other for the door.

I loved to roller skate when I was younger. I was really good at it too!

I liked this when I was young.

But I LOVED this! And to this day, I am still deciding if adding the milk or the powder first is better.

Post Malone is my very favorite artist. I listen to his music all the time. He is an amazing singer, performer, and a very humble man. Does his music contain some explicit words? Yes. Can I overlook that? I sure can!

I have a strong dislike for owls. This is the only image I could even look at. I cannot describe it, but their puffy bodies, backward heads, and their....oh... never mind!!! I'm getting grossed out just thinking about them.

I never had a dog growing up. But I had this. And I remember every single thing about it.

I never learned to type. In college, I met a wonderful woman who would drive to my dorm, pick up my handwritten papers and type them for me. Her name was Barb, and she was amazing. I couldn't take typing in high school because I was in the concert band, my one elective class. Looking back, it was unfortunate because I really kind of needed to know how to type.

I had these exact shoes in eighth grade. I wore them with my Jordache Jeans and thought I was ALL THAT! lol

This is my absolute favorite tv show from my high school and college days. It is so funny and makes me so happy! It is finally available on some streaming and tv channels, and I have loved watching it again after so many years.

Well, that is about it for today!
I'd love to hear something surprising about you, my friends.
Have a cozy Wednesday!

Just For Fun On A Wednesday

Good morning! With so many streaming channels available now, many of them free, I am finding some of my favorite shows from long ago available to watch again. Some of these I haven't thought of in years and years! Let's see if you remember any of my favorites. I'll put the answers down below!

1.

Let's start with an easy one, but one I still love!

2.

This one I loved! My sisters and I watched it all the time years ago.

3.

Another favorite. So funny!

4.

This one may be hard! I haven't seen it forever!

5.

This one is my very favorite show ever. I watched it every single day when I was in college. It is hard to find now, but if I see it, I stop what I am doing and watch!

6.

Finally, this is my very favorite drama from years ago. Again, very hard to find! But so so so good!

What are some of your favorite shows? I'd love to hear about them!

Friday Fun

Hello! And Happy Friday! We are heading home today after some fun days at the beach. I took a few pictures yesterday to document a random day at the beach. Not pictured is my morning because who wants to see photos of just-woke-up-me drinking coffee and saying prayers, right? So imagine me eating eggs and toast, followed by some time on my laptop and then a quick afternoon nap. Moving on...

We enjoyed a late lunch outside with a view of the ocean. This rather unappetizing photo is actually two delicious softshell crab tacos with fresh mango and cabbage! Trust me on this!

After lunch, we took our chairs and sat at the edge of the shore for a long time, watching the waves and the people, most of whom were packing up and heading in after a long day. That is how we have always done the beach. It works for us!

Afterward, Steve and I went on a dinner date. True to form, he knew exactly what I wanted for dinner. Yes, dinner. Baskin Robbins World Class Chocolate. It is a special treat we don't have near our home and the same ice cream he used to get me thirty-five years ago when I was in college.

Let's see your answers to these somewhat random questions!

1. Are you a committed all-day-at-the-beach person or a casual sit-and-watch-the-waves for a bit one?

I am a -wait- until -late-afternoon-when-everyone-else- is-leaving kind of girl!

2. Do you like softshell crabs, or are they a "No Way, But Thank You" dish?

I love them!

3. Have you ever had ice cream for dinner?

Yep. More than once!

4. Baskin Robbins or Dairy Queen?

Baskin Robbins for me!

5. When leaving a trip for home, do you shower in the morning before you leave or wait until you are home?

I always wait until I get home! I look forward to unpacking, showering, and putting on fresh pajamas the whole way home!

Leaving you with this photo that Peyton's husband sent us of her picking some blueberries. Just because I love her so!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!
See you Monday!
