Friday Photos Of Our Home

Good Friday morning, my friends! Mocha is all snuggled in, so I wanted to share some more photos of our new home, all decorated for Halloween.

Come right in the front door into the foyer.

To the right is a beautiful, empty room that will eventually be a dining room!

Straight ahead of the foyer is the family room, where we spend time together, watching TV and visiting.

Behind the sofa is a table that is the perfect spot for holiday decor...

From the family room, you can look right into this pretty space. We don't really know what to call it, so if you have any ideas, please let me know!

And me. Makeup-free, sporting a soft, cozy sweater that feels great despite the thermometer saying it is 74 degrees outside, snapping a selfie to send to my bestie, Danielle, who blogs right HERE, and who knows  I adore this season so much that she sent me this for my birthday. Wow. That was a sentence! Well, I should get up and start my day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friends. Thank you for visiting. I look forward to a hot cup of pumpkin coffee and catching up with you this weekend!

Fall In Our New Home

Hello, my friends! Thank you for the kind words on my previous post. We are settled in here and are looking forward to October and all the fun it brings. Sidenote: In case you missed a post or two, Steve and his brother recently sold our family business, and Steve is now semi-retired. He continues to do consulting work, which can be done remotely, so we decided to spend more time at the place our family loves, the ocean. We still have our lake house and will spend time there as well. We feel blessed to have found this lovely home that the previous owners built with such love. We found out only after we purchased the house that the owners were from Pennsylvania, too! That may be why it immediately felt like home.

I took some pictures of the kitchen area yesterday once we had made it all cozy and spooky for October! I like to do that to remember how I decorated from year to year because my memory isn't the best! I wanted to share them today.

I'll share more soon! Now, I need to get up and get moving! Have a cozy October day, my friends. Thanks for visiting!

In The Morning And In The Evening

What I see when I wake

What I see before I dream

And in between?

Coffee, dishes, lunch, and homeschool. Phone calls, laundry, more coffee, naps. Dinner, dishes, blogs, and books. Family and home and dogs and love.
Laughing. Living.
Comfort. Peace.
Life.

Have a cozy Wednesday, my friends.

Well, That's Done!

Hello there! My house is currently basking in post-holiday chaos, and I am okay with it. The tree is still up because I love the lights at night; some decorations are currently residing on the dining room table, waiting to be packed away until next year, but the pile of empty boxes in the garage is making it impossible to get to the Christmas tubs, so there's that. These sunny days allow me to see the previously hidden layers of dust on things and tiny pieces of wrapping paper litter the floor under the couch. And, honestly, I am okay with it.

I have relaxed over the years. It could be my realization that my body has limits or the desire to hang onto the cozy of Christmas a bit longer. My midlife mantra has become, "It will get done when it gets done." And until that time, I can live with it. Now, that being said, I did tackle a project yesterday. This was out of necessity. I have woken up with a stuffy nose for the past few weeks? Months? Anyway, it has been an extended period since I washed my mattress pad and pillow covers. And since I swept under my bed. And since I wiped down the bedframe. You get the idea. Yesterday, I did it. Not all at once like my thirty-year-old self did. I did it gradually throughout the day. And I got it done. I got nothing else done, but I got it done. I packed away the Christmas quilt and returned things to normal. I dusted, vacuumed, wiped, and fluffed. And today, I woke up sniffle free!!!

Today, I may do the guest room. Or I may take a day to recover.

Have a cozy Wednesday, my friends!

Thanks for visiting!
