The First Day Of School 2018

Not so long ago, our schoolroom was filled with four students. This year, we had one. One little, sweet third grader! Rhett began his cyber schooling last week, and was at work when we took these pictures. He is a junior this year. I know. How? In any case, my girl and I had a wonderful first day together.

First Day Of School 2017

Our little schoolroom opened today and we began our fifth year of homeschooling! It was a happy and cozy and successful day, and we look forward to many more.  : )

Our Second Grade student was up bright and early!

We got a picture with the Superintendent of Schools...

And a very happy Second Grade teacher.

After a delicious breakfast of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, made by our in house Cafeteria Manager Peyton...

We headed into the schoolroom, and got to work.
Our Sophomore was up and ready too!!!

This year Flynn is looking forward to studying the continents in Social Studies, making an exploding volcano in Science, and using an actual spiral notebook for dictation.

Rhett is looking forward to being done Introduction to Business and lunch. : )

Have a wonderful school year, my friends!!!

First Day Of School 2016

Our first day of homeschool 2016 was a success! We were back in our little schoolroom and working right away. Here are a few pictures of our day.

My First grader was the first one up and ready...

And was excited to take a few pictures with her teacher...

And with the Superintendent of schools. : )

We had pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for breakfast...

And then posed for the annual First Day of School picture.
My students this year...
Flynn-First Grade,
Rhett- Ninth Grade,
And Peyton- Eleventh and Twelfth Grades
Yes. That's right.
My Peyton is graduating this year, as a Junior!
So proud of her hard work and determination. : )

My youngest student brought me a gift.
She got it out of the refrigerator all by herself.
And washed it too. : )

I also received these beautiful flowers from my sweet, thoughtful, home and school and family loving friend Tara. (Who is so humble she probably didn't want me to put her name here.)

My baby. Because. Well. She's my baby.

Then we finished our first day back with an after lunch stroll.
But not before my girl exclaimed, "I LOVE First Grade!"

Tomorrow we do it all again.
Minus all the pictures. : )

Have a wonderful rest of the week, my friends!

First Day Of School 2015

We began a brand new year of homeschooling yesterday...and it was a good day!

We set out her outfit the night before...

and took a few pictures outside...with a backpack of course...while we waited for the older kids to wake up. Because...older kids. : )

And one with her shadow just for fun.

Earlier in the morning, I snuck into the school room to set their surprises on their desks...Rhett collects Funko Pops from movies as well as superheroes and comic books too. Plus...I always get them a candle to burn while they work.

Peyton is my retro television girl! And I also got her a new scent in her favorite smelling lotion. Plus a fall scented candle. : )

And for my little lady...Cinderella Peg Dolls...Thank You talented people on Etsy...and a Cinderella book and shirt. : )

Then it was the annual First Day of School Picture!
Peyton...10th
Rhett...8th
Flynn...Kindergarten
Kirby...Mascot

We did some fun work to ease back into it. And my student was all about it! : )

After she and I were done, we made a surprise snack for the big kids...including Madison, who arrived home safely!

And thus it begins...another fun and exciting...not to mention cozy...new school year!.

First Day Of School 2014

Today was the day. Our first day of school. We were all excited...really. And I am so thankful for that. This first day of school begins a year of lasts for us. My Madison begins her senior year. Here is what the first day of school looked like in our country home. : )

Flynn and I set out the Back to School Breakfast nice and early...Chocolate chip pumpkin bread and fresh fruit...a favorite!

Then I snuck in and set out the little surprise gifts on the desks. And every year, my kids act as if they didn't know I was going to! Madison was thrilled with the elf Disney inspired makeup and new books I picked out for her.  And she loved the new candle for her desk of course. : )

Peyton was just as happy with her new Guardians of the Galaxy T shirt...so much so she changed and put it on! I also got my super reader a few new novels and doughnut scented candle.

Rhett said I outdid myself with his gifts! He is a collector, and loved his new items and Guardians of the Galaxy shirt, which he promptly changed into as well.

And my baby? She was thrilled with her new Cinderella dolls...which finally included the two wicked stepsisters! Those gals are hard to find! And her favorite book series came in a little set of four new ones...which we have already read. Twice. : )

Then it was time for the yearly Back to School Picture. The last with all four of my children together. And see that puppy there? When the kids went over to get ready, he went right over and stood still as well. Swear.
Madison...12th, Peyton...9th, Rhett...7th, and Flynn...4 year old Preschool. : )
Oh...and Kirby...mascot.

We got right to work, and my little preschooler was happy to be back. : )

Once she and I were done, she asked to make a "Surprise Snack" for the big kids. And so we did.

Have a blessed and happy school year, my friends!

First Day Of School 2013

Today was our very first day of cyber/homeschool, and it was great! I so enjoyed spending time with my kids in this new way...teacher and student. : ) Here are a few pictures of our first day. : )

Welcome message all ready to go!

Breakfast today was French Toast...

with fresh fruit.
I told them not to get too excited. It's back to Pop Tarts tomorrow. : )
Just keeping it real here, folks!

Madison's first day goodies...A Walking Dead shirt, some Bath and Body supplies, a pumpkin candle for her desk, and some pumpkin hand sanitizer.

Peyton's was almost the same...a Walking Dead shirt, a candle, hand sanitizer, and a handmade Walking Dead charm bracelet that she LOVED!

Rhett got a Walking Dead shirt too, as well as a candle, hand sanitizer, and a 49ers desk organizer.

Flynn loved her little magnetic dolls!

First day of school 2013...
and you may notice that they are all wearing their new shirts! As soon as they saw them, they put them on! Score one for Mom. : )

Working away...

even my little Preschooler was hard at work...

with her school hair ribbons on, of course!

And some yummy Back to School cupcakes to finish off the day!

All in all I would say it was a successful day. Thanks so much for all the kind words and support. Blessings for a wonderful new school year to you all!
